All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Swan Hill Cemetery--Ada OK DOROTHY WEISS ADA - Services for Dorothy Ann Weiss, 81, Ada, are 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Dr. Pat Kilby and Harold Ware officiating. A private family committal service will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Weiss died Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, at her home. She was born Nov. 25, 1925, at Edmond to Edward Alexander Kearby and Katheryn Ruth Cleaver Kearby. She graduated from Edmond High School in 1943 and from Central State College in 1947 with a bachelor's of arts degree. While attending college, she was a member of Blue Curtain Players and The Criterion Club, and served as class reporter her senior year. She moved to Ada in 1955 from Edmond and worked at First National Bank Trust Department for 12 years. She was a volunteer at Valley View Regional Hospital from 1984-2007 and volunteered approximately 7,000 hours. Her last assignment was working in the gift shop at the hospital. She was a member of Ada Tanti Study Club (Fine Arts Department) from 1955-2007, Ada "Key of G Kitchen Band," and First Baptist Church and Faith Sunday School Class. She married Jack Dean Weiss June 6, 1947. He died March 12, 2000. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Kearby and James Ross Kearby. Survivors include a sister, Frances Edwina Chambers, Edmond; three daughters, Sharon Lambert and husband Jack, Ada, Luanne Lamson, Edmond, and Kathy Albright and husband Randy, Gordonville, Texas; four grandchildren, Sasha Clements, Norman, Ryan Albright, Edmond, Trey Albright, Gordonville, Texas, and Kearby Lamson, Edmond; and two great-grandchildren, Will Clements and Reese Clements, Norman. Bearers are Trey Albright, Ryan Albright, Randy Albright, Jack Lambert, Jason Clements and Kenneth Elkins. Donations may be made to First Baptist Church, Falls Creek Brick or Seat Fund, 521 S. Broadway, Ada, OK 74820 in memory of Mrs. Dorothy Weiss.
