"JUDY" BALLARD SCOTTS BLUFF, Neb. — Judith E. “Judy” Bullard, 75, Alliance, Neb., died Monday, June 23, 2008, at her home in Scottsbluff. A private family service will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place at the Jolliffe Funeral Home and Crematory in Scottsbluff. Ms. Bullard was born Dec. 19, 1932, in Ardmore, Okla., to John H. and Zora Lee Arnold Thompson. She graduated from high school in Stonewall, Okla. Mrs. Bullard worked in the family run business, an oil field and perforating services company located in Upton and Gillette, Wyo. She married Gerald D. Bullard in Stonewall May 21, 1950. They had four children. She is survived by her husband Gerald D. Bullard, Alliance; sons Jerry Wayne and his wife Rosalie Bullard of Gillette, Wyo., John Stephen and wife Susan Bullard of Eaton, Colo., and Craig Edward and wife Janine Bullard of Chadron; a daughter Melinda Lee and husband David Powell of Mitchell; a brother, Harry Ed Thompson, Houston, Texas; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She also attended St. Mary's Business School in Gainesville, Texas, and Odessa Junior College in Odessa, Texas. Mrs. Martin was an educational secretary until her retirement. She was a member of Central Church of Christ. She married Gene Martin on June 29, 1946, in Gainesville, Texas. He preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Steve Martin, Midland, Texas; a daughter, Paula Willett and husband Bill, Ada; four grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; sisters, Roxie Schoppaul, Springfield, Mo., Reba Beall, Azel, Texas, and Billie Morrow, Austin, Texas; and a sister- in-law, Zelma Snow, Chandler, Texas. She was born Oct. 19, 1915, in Wapanucka to Thomas and Susie Ellen Heard Holliday. She attended Wapanucka and Stonewall schools and received her college education at East Central University in Ada during the 1930s when it was a “Normal” school. Mrs. Myers married Buford Myers on June 8, 1940. He died Feb. 4, 1983. Mrs. Myers was a homemaker, helped her husband raise cattle, and was hired by Byng Schools to set up and teach the first Head Start program in the area. She later taught Kindergarten for the Byng School System. Mrs. Myers was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Byng. She was a former member of Ada Hobo's Camping Club and the American Legion where she served as treasurer and second vice president. She was a member of the Pontotoc County Historical and Genealogical Society. On Sept. 20, 1942, she married Woodrow Perrin in Fitzhugh. As a Baptist minister's wife, Mrs. Perrin lived in several places including Sherman and Denison for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock. Mr. Godwin was born Nov. 10, 1920 in Briggs, Texas to James Perry and Mattie (Hasty) Godwin. He graduated from Ardmore High School and married Janet Marie Maddox Jan. 3, 1942. The couple moved to Richmond, Calif. to work in the shipyards during wartime. In 1943, they returned to the Ardmore area before returning to California and working in a commercial dairy farm. In the 1950s, Mr. Godwin moved his family back to the Ardmore area and opened a skating rink while maintaining his own dairy farm. He also owned and operated a Sinclair Service Station and a skating rink in Healdoton. In 1960, Mr. Godwin opened a bowling alley in Pauls Valley. In Wilburton, he built and operated a bowling alley and later Rowland’s Restaurant. In 1965, he sold all of his business and moved to Tulsa working for Rheem and Steel building oil tanks. In 1967, he moved to Mesita, Colo., where he raised barley. In 1968, he moved back to Pauls Valley where he took control of the bowling alley, eventually selling it. In 1970, he opened Past Time Recreation in pauls Valley. From 1978 to 1981, Mr. Godwin operated a dairy farm in Pooleville with his son. Relocating to ardmore, he ran his dairy farm until 1983 when he moved to Madill and opened an ice business. He retired from business after his second wife, Lillie, died. Mr. Godwin is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lillie Mae Costner; son Dennis Wayne Godwin; one brother, Robert Godwin; and one sister, Venita Thomas. Survivors include three sons, Jim Godwin and wife Sonnia of Pooleville, Tracy Godwin and wife Vickie of Ada, Wendell Godwin and wife Susie of Coppell, Texas; nine grandchildren, LaJuana Choate, Ginger Waller, Kim Godwin, Chris T. She attended East Central State Teacher’s College, where she received her teaching certificate. Mrs. Stegall taught first and second grade at Pleasant Hill School in 1932. She later taught at Latta schools. Mrs. Stegall was a charter member of Latta Cumberland Presbyterian Church since 1932. Being married to a pastor, Mrs. Stegall served as a pastor’s wife for churches in Muskogee, and Clinton on three different occasions. She was always active in the churches teaching Sunday school and playing the piano. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. During retirement, Mrs. Stegall lived in Mesa, Ariz., before returning to Ada. She married Malcolm Linley “Mac” Stegall in 1934 at Ada. He died March 28, 1997. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jerry Mac Stegall, in February1986. She taught elementary school in Ada starting at the age of 19 and a Woman's Sunday School class at the Baptist Church until her retirement. She helped in building the first Ada Whitehouse cabin at Falls Creek Baptist Assembly. In 1929 she was elected Camp Queen and accompanied church musician and composer B.B. McKinney for several years. She lived in Ada almost 70 years. She and her husband, D.J., moved to Sulpher Springs, Texas, after his retirement. They then moved to McAllen, Texas, Kerrville, Texas, Eufaula and Madill. A few months ago she moved to Eufaula. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Charles Huddleston, her sister Melba Heiland, and her husband D.J. Nabors. Mr. Reeves moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, in 1956 to work at Dell High Taylor refinery. He later worked as construction manager for Bill Wehring and the state of Texas as welding inspector, from which he retired. After he retired, Mr. Reeves returned to Atwood to the family farm where he farmed and ranched. He lived there until March 2006 when he moved to Allen. He was preceded in death by his mother LuTacey Firestone Reeves, his father "Bud" Joe Mathison Reeves; and his stepmother, Myra Mathis Reeves. Rev. Bill Jones will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Ada. Ms. Gallup died July 25 in Stratford at the age of 81 years. She was born March 8, 1927 in Stratford to Willie Watts and Mildred (Hale) Cook. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church of Ada, First Baptist Church and Church of Christ, both of Stratford. Ms. Gallup lived in the Ada and Stratford area her entire life. She graduated from Stratford High School and immediately left for Washington D.C. where she worked at the Pentagon for the duration of World War II. Ms. Gallup attended college at the University of Oklahoma, East Central State College followed by Nurses Training at St. John’s Hospital School of Nursing where she received a diploma in nursing followed by licensure as a Registered Nurse. She began working at Valley View Regional Hospital in 1951 and retired from the hospital in 1992. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Harlan Cook. Ms. Gallup is survived by one daughter, Cathy and husband Gary Pryor of Stratford; two sons, Kevin Gallup, Stratford and Steve and wife Mary Gallup, also of Stratford; six grandchildren, Rowdy McKinley, Chris Gallup, Cole Gallup, Casey Gallup, Dustin Gallup and Amanda McKinley; and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Barton moved to Ada in 1973 from Kingfisher, Oklahoma. He served in the U. S. Army Reserves. He married Ann Black Collins on February 20, 1983 in Ada. Mr. Barton was a self-employed rancher and a crop insurance adjuster. He was also a social worker with the Department of Human Services in Coal County. Survivors include his wife, Ann Barton, of the home; his children, Sarah Barton Carlsson and husband Niclas, Ada, Elizabeth Barton, Washington, D.
