Interment will follow at McGee Cemetery in Stratford, OK. Officiating will be Rev. Glen Eaves. Ms. Lamb died Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada at the age of 79. She was born December 10, 1928 in Stratford to Virgil Amos Farmer and Alva Mae Isaacs Farmer. She married Clifford Lamb on June 16, 1946 in Oil Center. Mr. Lamb died April 19, 2002. Ms. Lamb attended Summers Chapel School and Vanoss Schools while growing up. She worked at Dillon’s Department Store as a sales clerk for many years. She was a lifelong resident of this area and was a member of the Oil Center Pentecostal Holiness Church. She loved the church and her family very much. Ms. Lamb is survived by two sons: Don Lamb and his wife Charlene of Ada, OK and Roger lamb and his wife Linda of Ada, OK; one daughter: Phyllis Pits and her husband Ron of Moore, OK; two brothers: Gerald Farmer of Ada, OK and Deryl Farmer of Sapulpa, OK; four sisters: Patsy Morris of Stratford, OK, Gwendal Weatherly of Pauls Valley, OK, Billie Rae Crookham of Georgia, and June Hightower of Texas; thirteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Ms. Lamb was preceded in death by her husband: Clifford Lamb; her parents: Virgil and Alva Farmer; three brothers: Preston, Bennie, and Jimmy Farmer; one sister: Ruby Tedrick; and one great-grandchild. Burial will follow at the Mt. Olive Cemetery. Ms. Orr was a retired LPN from medical services at Fort Sill Army Base in Lawton. She was a member of the Midland Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcel Orr. Mr. Humphers served in the United States Army during World War II as a corporal in 131 Quarter Master Truck Company and received military honors. He was a lifelong resident of ths area and had worked on pipelines for many years. She married Sylvester J. “Sy” Fitter June 9, 1951. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Casey Webb, a brother, James Moseley, and a sister, Patsy Moseley. He was born Oct. 12, 1919, at Centrahoma to John Robert Sr. and Ada Mildred Vick Linker. He grew up in Centrahoma and attended Centrahoma Schools. Mr. Linker served in the United States Army during World War II. He served in North Africa, Germany, Italy, France and made five amphibian landings. He was a member and deacon of Tupelo First Baptist Church and a farmer. Mr. Linker married Maxine M. Johnson July 11, 1945, in Coalgate, at the Coalgate Methodist Church. She died Dec. 18, 2006. Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Janette Linker, Tupelo, and Robin Ballard and her husband Mike, Tupelo; two brothers, Robert Linker and his wife Dee of Lawton, Boyd Linker and his wife of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Wanda Park, Durant; three grandchildren, Vonnita Ruiz and husband Paul of Phoenix, Ariz., Scott Ballard of Tupelo, Jake Ballard and wife Kathy of Ada; and seven great-grandchildren. She was born Aug. 2, 1920 at Jerusalem, Ark., to James Monroe and Cynthia Allie Byers Chism. She and her family came to this area by wagon when she was 4 years old and settled in Francis. She graduated from Francis High School and lived in Francis the remainder of her life. Mrs. Moon was a licensed practical nurse at Valley View Regional Hospital for more than 30 years and a member of Church of Christ. She married Mirl Moon Sept. 15, 1941. He died in 2001. Survivors include a son, Joe Moon and wife Glenda, Francis; a granddaughter, Tina Moon, Shawnee; three grandsons, Steve Moon and wife Shannon, Sheridan, Ark., Stephen Khoury and wife Shannan, Sherman, Texas, and Philip Khoury and wife Missy, Konawa; three great-grandsons, Jackson, Tyler, and Carter; four great- granddaughters, Ashleigh, Danielle, Lauren, and Katherine; a sister, Hazel Kymes and husband Lester, Ada; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, including the special staff of Woodland Hills Nursing Center in Allen. He graduated from Ada High School in 1964 and East Central University. Mr. Hillman was a U. S. Postal Service employee until his retirement. He was of the Methodist faith and had served in the U. S. Marine Corps from 1967 until 1969. He served in Vietnam for 13 months. Survivors include a daughter, Julie Day and husband John, Broken Arrow; a son, Nathan Hillman, Ada; four grandchildren, Haley Hillman, Breanna Hillman, Shelbi Day, and Chloe Day; one brother, Joe Hillman and wife Ronda, Shawnee; and one sister, Barbara Shahan and husband Alvin Carol, Fitzhugh. Mrs. Howry died May 3, 2008. She was born Oct. 9, 1948, in Ada to Henry and Luretha Eppler Hudson and was raised in Ada. Mrs. Howry graduated from Ada High School in 1966 and graduated with honors from East Central State University in 1969. She taught elementary school in Colorado, Kentucky and Kansas before she and her husband moved to Ardmore in 1973 where she continued her teaching career in Plainview and Ardmore schools. In 1983, she resigned her teaching position and joined her husband in the family business. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Ardmore and was part of the Emmaus community. She was a member of the Can-Can cancer support group. In 1970, Mrs. Howry married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Howry. Survivors include her husband, Jerry; their children, Nathanael Howry and his wife Kay, Matthew Howry and his wife Lisa, Amanda Howry, Allison Denham and her husband James; grandchildren, Melissa Howry and Dakota Guinn; brothers, Ted Hudson and his wife Glynnda, Tommy Hudson, and Ken Hudson and his wife Jan; her sister Becky Clinton and her husband John; many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles. Visitation will be -8 p.m. Thursday at J. Warren Funeral Home, Casa Grande. Mr. Johnson died May 5, 2008. He was born Jan. 30, 1923, in Ada, Okla. to Roy and Stella Johnson. He was raised in Ada and left home after a year of college to serve in the Army Air Corp during World War II as an aircraft mechanic crew chief. Following his honorable discharge, Mr. Johnson married his wife Betty of Ada. The couple made Casa Grande their home where he was a building contractor from 1947 until his retirement. Mr. Johnson played a major role in Casa Grande’s economic development by working with others to design and promote the Valley Industrial Park. McNatt Manor and the Palm Parke subdivision was also developed by him. Mr. Johnson was co-founder of O’Odham Tash, served as president of the Casa Grande Chamber of Commerce and assisted in the development of the MulChuTa celebration in Sacaton. He was a member of Elks Club and American Legion. He is survived by his best friend and companion Katie Finn; a daughter, Donna Villa; two sons, Ron and Randy Johnson all of Casa Grande; a sister Majorie May of California; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mildred Agan of Ada and his mother-in-law, Mildred Price of Shawnee. Mr. Franklin received a bachelor's degree from East Central University, a master's degree from Central State University and a certificate of administration from the University of Oklahoma. He retired as a high school administrator from Bethel High School near Shawnee. He was a member of the US Army Medical Corp from 1963 to 1965 and honorably discharged. She graduated from Wanette High School and East Central University. She married Danny Wayne Davis on June 9, 1984 in Ada, Oklahoma. Mrs. Davis was employed for twenty years with Sandmann’s Grocery and Café in Tribbey and the last two years with the payroll department with the Chickasaw Nation Enterprises. She was a member of the Oil Center Pentecostal Holiness Church. He attended schools in the Asher area, playing center on the Asher football team and graduating from high school in 1939. After high school, he joined the CCC Corp. He later joined the Army Air Corps, serving in Fort Sill, Okla., Australia, New Guinea and Papua on the ocean liner Queen Elizabeth I. He was a veteran of World War II, serving from 1942 until 1945. He was awarded campaign ribbons for the battles of New Guinea and Papua with the Army Air Corps 5th Air Squadron. He earned a Good Conduct medal, Airplane and Engine Mechanic certification, an AFF Technician Badge, Asian-Pacific Service Ribbon and Three Bronze Service Stars while gaining the rank of sergeant. His final assignment was a Wright Field, Ohio, to work to work on the Enola Gay. After the war, he returned to Ada to work on the family farm and in the oil fields. His career began as a roustabout and rig builder and ended as an independent supervisor and consultant in the many oil fields of Oklahoma and Texas, working for several oil companies throughout the region. He was co-owner of Sterling Pipe and Supply. He married Jean Sparkman in 1945. In 1976, Monroe married his high school sweetheart, Dee Creech. He was a member of Cookson Baptist Church and served on Cookson Water Board. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Ruth Bettis, sister, Ruby Bettis, and brothers, Hubert and Hershel Bettis. She was also a member of the Roff and Ada chapters of the Eastern Star. He lived in Hughes County most of his life and graduated from Calvin High School. He received Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from East Central University. He married Leola Medford October, 1947. Mr. Lindley was a math teacher and school administrator at Bethel Hill in Pittsburg County and at Moss. He was also a farmer and rancher and co-founder of Home Gas Company in Calvin. Mr. Lindley was of the Baptist faith and was a lifelong member of the Democratic Party. He served in the U. S. Army in Japan during World War II. She was born March 30, 1913 in Boswell, Okla. to David Jones and Amelia Wilson Jones. She married Benjamin Roberts on December 14, 1932 in Boswell. Benjamin Roberts died on November 18, 1989. Ms. Roberts graduated from Boswell Schools while growing up. She worked at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City, her starting position was in central medical supply and she retired as a medical records clerk. After retiring she was a homemaker. She also was a member of the Ada First Free Will Baptist Church and was a past member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Latta. RONALD BURNETT FRANCIS-Services for Rev. Ronald H. Burnett, 61, Francis, are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the River of Life Church, 7th and Cherry in Ada, Revs. Charles Dial and Al Beck will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Rev. Burnett died Thursday, May 29, 2008 at a local hospital. He was born December 15, 1946 at Ada, Oklahoma to Winfred H. “Wimp” and Gladys George Burnett. He lived in this area most of his life and graduated from Byng High School. He married Valerie Kay Grissom in 1979 at Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Rev. Burnett was the Pastor at Ada Pentecostal Church of God and he was also a plumbing contractor. He was a member of the Ada Pentecostal Church of God, and he had served in the National Guard for six years. Survivors include his wife, Valerie Burnett, of the home; two sons, Mike Burnett and wife Kimmi, Seminole, and John Burnett and wife Christi, Copperas Cove, Texas; five grandchildren, Makala, Tyler, Tristan, Caleb and Jacob. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bearers will be Tim Churchwell, Troy Byrd, Larry Byrd, Tyler Burnett, James Bailey, Jerry Cox, James Parks, and Tristan Burnett. She was a housewife. Ms. Broadway lived most of her life in Fort Worth then Ada for the past 25 years. She was a member of the Southwest Church of Christ. Ms. Broadway was preceded in death by two husbands, Harold McIntosh and Oliver Broadway; her parents; three brothers, Jimmy, Bill and Oliver; three sisters, Mammie, Racheal and Ivy; one grandchild Shane. She is survived by one son, Robert Wilson of Fort Worth, Texas; four daughters, Gail Williams, Linda Callaham, Becky Griffin and Cindy Cooke, all of Ada; two brothers, Heck Phares of Latta and Jack Phares of Eufaula; two sisters, Esther Davis, Ada, Barbara Womack of Holdenville; 11 grandchildren, Scott, Robin, Morgan, Kelly, Randa, Chelsea, Candice, Jason, Curtis, Cassie and Brandon; and nine great- grandchildren.
