All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Oaklawn Cemetery--Sulphur OK Carter, Virginia Morgan Virginia Morgan, 85, died August 16, 2005 after a brief illness. Born 29 October 1919, at Ada, Oklahoma, to Maurice and Anna Lee Morgan. She lived with family in several OK towns until the family settled in OKC where she attended elementary schools, Roosevelt Jr High and was graduated from Classen High School in 1937. She worked in the credit office at Rothschild's B & M for several years until she married Robert I. Carter on 9 June 1940 when they moved to Washington, DC, where he was employed in the War Department. At the beginning of WWII she worked at the Office of Selective Service assisting in administration of the military draft system, until her husband, Bob, was commissioned in the Army Air Corps. They began an odyssey of traveling during his active service and, having no children, continued after his retirement. They returned to Oklahoma City in 1967 to make their home and joined the First Presbyterian Church. Their travels took them to every continent and every state in the US. Ginny loved every experience and made countless friends both here and around the world. Predeceased by parents, two brothers, Harold and Kenneth Morgan, and a younger sister, Naomi Morgan-Warfield Ragsdale. Survivors include sisters in-law Anne W. Morgan, OKC, and Iverna Phelps-Morgan, Albuquerque, NM, brother-in-law, Richard M. Warfield, Silver Spring, MD, and his children, nieces Janet Brown, Martha Badrian, Linda Barker, Diane Sullivan, nephew, Bruce M. Warfield, their spouses, all of the D.C. area; niece Frances Morgan- Middlesworth, spouse, and nephew, Ken A. Morgan and spouse, all of OKC, many other nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Ginny was a loving and outgoing person who made many friends and was always considerate of others' problems and needs and sought to help in every possible way. She will be sorely missed by her friends and loved ones. Ginny and Bob have been blessed with the love and support of their neighbors, church, others, both in OKC and elsewhere. The doctors and staff at Deaconess Hospital have done everything possible to sustain her, and her survivors are most grateful for their care and support. Following interment at the Sulphur Oaklawn Cemetery, Memorial services will be at First Presbyterian Church, OKC at 1:00pm, on Wed., August 24, 2005, led by Dr. Carl V. Bosteels. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or to the Charity of donor's choice.
