Joe Council October 23, 1941  June 17, 2002

Joe Council was born October 23, 1941, in Roff, Oklahoma, and passed 
away June 17, 2002 in Bakersfield after a long and courageous battle 
with cancer. He was a longtime resident of Fillmore, CA and a recent 
resident of Bakersfield. He was employed by Cox Petroleum 
Transportation of Bakersfield. His passing leaves an enormous void. 
His kindness and humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father Leo Council. He leaves his 
loving mother, Rachel Council of Fillmore, CA, his sweetheart, 
soulmate and wife Cathy, their children, Sonya and her husband 
Michael Sereno of Phoenix, AZ, Brian and his wife Kristie of 
Bakersfield, CA, grandchildren, Michael Laird, Connor and Harrison 
Council, brothers Harold and his wife Jean and Glen and his wife 
Priscilla, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Regina and Erik Cohen as 
well as aunts, uncles, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a visitation at Bakersfield Family Funeral Directors on 
Saturday, June 22, from 1-5 p.m., 701 34th Street.
