All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED Edwards, William Ray "Bud" William Ray 'Bud' Edwards died of natural causes on March 12, 2003, in Lafayette. He was 67 years of age. Born October 10, 1935 in Fittstown, OK, he was the son of Ray Edwards and Ruby Archer. He married Joyce Boone in Springdale, AR, on October 25, 1980. Mr. Edwards graduated from Varnum High School in Seminole, OK, in 1953 before attending Oklahoma Baptist University. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree from Oklahoma City University in 1964. Mr. Edwards moved to the Boulder area from Springdale, AR, in 1979. Mr. Edwards was ordained as a minister in 1960 by the First Baptist Church of Seminole, OK, and he pastored numerous churches in the Oklahoma City and Midwest City areas, including Witcher Baptist, Hillcrest Baptist, and Friendship Baptist churches. His last pastorate was at Elmdale Baptist Church in Springdale, AR. As a faithful member of East Boulder Baptist Church, Mr. Edwards taught the Adult IV Sunday school class for the last twelve years. After moving to Colorado, Mr. Edwards served as a lieutenant with the Boulder County Sheriff's Department for five years, beginning in 1980. Mr. Edwards worked as a realtor in the Boulder area from 1986 until his death. He completed study with the graduate Realtor Institute in 1989. Mr. Edwards was an avid hunter and sportsman. He was a gifted athlete, and his many championships included state handball masters champion of Arkansas during the late 1970's. As a mountain hiker, he climbed 10 of Colorado's fourteeners. His favorite pastime was snow skiing with his grandchildren. 'Bud was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who will be long-remembered for his loving, Christ-like ministry to all who knew him.' Survivors include his wife, Joyce Edwards of Lafayette, daughters Diana (Bill) Ellis of Abilene, TX, Julie (Alan) Jansen of Erie, CO, Jo (Stan) Jackson of Fayetteville, AR, and Carla Supiran of Emporia, KS; grandchildren Emily and Brett Ellis, Hannah Jansen, Jayne and Delaney Jackson, and Austin and Dillon Supiran; and sisters Judy (John) James of Prescott, AZ, and Sharon (Butch) Kroh of Wichita, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Pat Morrison. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Monday, March 17, at East Boulder Baptist Church, 7690 Baseline Road, Boulder.
