::Shafter Cemetery--Shafter CA

Howard V. Flud Feb. 14, 1916  April 6, 2002

Funeral services will be held in the Peters Funeral Chapel, Shafter 
on Wed., April 10 at 10 a.m. for Howard Vois Flud, age 86, of Green 
Acres who passed away April 6 at home. Pastor Jim Wheeler, Hospice 
Chaplain will officiate the service and interment will follow at 
Shafter Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 8 
p.m.

Mr. Flud was born Feb. 14, 1916 in Ada, Oklahoma to Isaac and Alice 
Flud. He moved to California at the age of 23 and began working in 
agriculture. He had been employed by Bidart Farms and Mettler Cotton 
Gin. He married Frances Jackson, May 15, 1946 and they continued to 
make their home in the Green Acres area. Howard enjoyed hunting and 
fishing, but loved dancing. He danced weekly at the Spears and Spires 
sponsored by North of the River Recreation District and with the 
Fiddlers Dance Club. He attended the Greeley Baptist Church.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 55 years, Frances Flud of 
Bakersfield; sons, Vernon Conway and wife Julie of Tacoma, 
Washington, David Flud of Bakersfield, Winford Flud and wife Sandra 
of Lake Isabella, Donald Flud of Bakersfield and Nathan Flud and wife 
Charlene of Bakersfield; daughters, Vickie Mapes of Bakersfield and 
Darlene McIllwain and husband Ronnie of Shafter; sister, Viola 
Weatherly of Ada, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren and 9 great 
grandchildren. His parents, 8 brothers and 1 sister preceded him in 
death. Donations may be made to Hospice in his name.
