Graveside service: 10 a.m. Tuesday in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Memorials: The family requests memorials be sent to Baptist Memorials Center, 902 N. Main St., San Angelo 76902; or Shriners' Hospital, 3100 Samford Ave., Shreveport, La. 71103. Rebecca was born May 18, 1922, in Frances, Okla., to Jesse Clifford Hembree Sr. and Vallie Elizabeth McFadden. She graduated from Our Lady of Victory High School in Fort Worth in 1940. During World War II, Rebecca worked for the British government. She was also active in the USO. Rebecca married James W. Hammack Jan. 10, 1948, in Weatherford. The couple lived most of their married life in Fort Worth. A retired legal secretary, Rebecca was a charter member of the Legal Secretaries Association. In 1973, she and James bought Hamm's Silk Screen, which they operated for 30 years. She was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the Texas State Rifle Association. The couple moved to the San Angelo area in 1988. She was preceded in death by husband, James; parents, Jesse and Vallie; brother, Richard; grandson, Craig Alan Traywick; and niece, Ann Marie Hembree. Survivors: Daughters, Tommye Jean Willberg and husband, Mike of Vancourt, Rebecca Janelle Belardi and husband, Douglas of Fort Worth; brothers, Tom Loughrey Sr. and wife, Nora of Weatherford, Jesse Hembree Jr. and wife, Mardy of Cooper; sister, Grace Webb and husband, Jodie of Crane; grandchildren, Allyson Reynolds Dixon of San Angelo, Davye Zeigler of Tupelo, Miss., Stacey Simpson of New Albany, Miss., Tony Brem of La Crosse, Wis., and Josh Brem of Vancourt; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
