Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory of McAlester. Mr. Hardee was born in Ada where he graduated from high school. He was 17 when he joined the Navy during World War II and served on the USS Shadwell. In 1950, Mr. Hardee graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's degree in animal science. He received a master's degree from Louisiana State University. He was employed as a county agent for the Richland Parrish in Louisiana. Mr. Hardee moved from Amarillo to McAlester in 1996. He was a retired rancher and member of Cattlemen's Association in Louisiana, New Mexico and Oklahoma. He was past president of the Historical Society of Johnston County, member of the Archeological Society and attended Christ United Methodist Church. He was a Presbyterian. He married Billye Gene Gulley in 1947 at Mount Ida, Ark. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tandy Gene Getz. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jessica Newman of Kingston and Lori Ann Hardee of Oklahoma City; and two grandchildren.
