All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Greenhill Cemetery--Lindsay OK Duncan Banner 24 Dec 2002 Bessie Poteet Hix LINDSAY — Bessie Poteet Hix, 88, of Lindsay died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, in Grace Living Center in Lindsay. Service was to be at 11 a.m. today in the First Christian Church of Lindsay with Will Bentley and Ronnie Worsham officiating. Interment was to be in Greenhill Cemetery in Lindsay. Ms. Hix was born Sept. 11, 1914, in Frisco, to John and Harriett Schudon Hayes. She was a 1931 graduate of Guthrie High School and a 1941 graduate of Central State College in Edmond. She taught school for 42 years throughout the state. She also sold real estate for almost 15 years in Lindsay. She was a member of the First Christian Church; Order of Eastern Star, Duncan Chapter 39; and White Shrine. Survivors include two sons, Adren and Robert Poteet; five grandchildren, Tana Poteet Worsham, Detra Poteet Foster, Bruce Poteet, Jamie Poteet Aldridge and Paula Poteet Brown, 11 great- grandchildren, Branden, Kale, Casey and Brianna Worsham, Jarred Branch, Tyler and Katy Brown, and Cody and Natalie Foster; and a host of nieces and nephews and loved family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, William and James Poteet; a grandson, Dallas Poteet; five brothers, Charles, Ed and T.P. Hayes, and George and Joe Chapman; and two sisters, Belle Stewart and Rosa Gilbert.
