All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Paso Robles Cemetery--Paso Robles CA Marty, Tessie Johnson Tessie Johnson Marty, 82, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007, at Country Care Convalescent Hospital in Atascadero, after a short illness. In accordance with her wishes, her remains will be interred at Paso Robles Cemetery following cremation. Her friends are invited to join her family at a celebration of her life at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at Paso Robles Senior Center, 279 Scott Road. Tessie was born July 19,1924, in Ada, Okla., to Charles H. Johnson and Nona Abbott Johnson. Her family moved to New Mexico and then Ajo, Ariz., where Tessie married Clyde Thixton in 1940, and their daughter Sandy was born. In 1944, when Clyde was drafted into the army and sent to Camp Roberts, Tessie moved to Paso Robles where she lived for the remainder of her life and where her son Dusty was born. Clyde and Tessie were divorced, and in 1971 she married Lloyd Marty. Tessie worked for Heaton's in the giftware department from 1964 until the store closed in 1983. She graduated from high school in 1964 at the age of 39. She loved animals and raised two baby mountain lions in the 1960s. She wrote hundreds of poems throughout her life and one song lyric. She thoroughly enjoyed watching and waving to Amtrak as it passed her house. Her friends and family were her world. She is survived by her daughter Sandy Thixton of Philomath, Ore., her son Dusty Thixton. of California City, Calif.; grandchildren, Daina Middleton of Sweet, Idaho, Ty Wyatt of Soldotna, Alaska, and Kyle Thixton of Tualatin, Ore.; great-grandchildren, Kenyon and Mesa Middleton, Joshua, Nathan, Cody and Mariah Thixton and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Marty, her mother and father and her sister Lois Nelson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those wishing to make contributions in Tessie's honor consider the Atzheimer's Association, North County Humane Society or National Wildlife Federation.
