All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Laurel Land Memorial Park--Ft Worth TX Fort Worth Star-Telegram 15 Aug 2005 Robert Dale Murphy 1916 - 2005 Robert Dale Murphy, 89, a retired contracting officer for the Federal Aviation Administration, died Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Robert Dale Murphy was born Jan. 8, 1916, in Roff, Okla., to parents, Henry Polk and Mary Ellen Trimble Murphy. While growing up, Dale moved to places such as Lone Oak, Cotulla, Throckmorton, Beaumont and Electra, where he graduated from high school. He served 38 months as an APO postmaster in Cairo, Egypt, with the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Florine Sadler in 1945 and they enjoyed the next 59 and a half years together. Dale also served eight years in Houston with the FAA. He then returned to Fort Worth. Dale was a member of Masonic Lodge 942, a lifetime member of VFW Post 8943, AARP Chapter 4116, honorary member of the Federal Retired Employees Association. He also was an active member of the Edge Park United Methodist Church, which he served in various offices. His favorite hobby and pastime was woodworking, making unusual things for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by wife, Florine; his family; and many friends. Survivors: Loving wife, Florine Murphy; nieces and nephews, Charles W. Murphy, J.P. Murphy, Gene A. Barnett, Prentice W.
