All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Rosedale Cemetery--Ada OK Durant Daily Democrat 15 Feb 2005 Ran Newton, 93 Ran Newton, a resident of the Pecan Grove Community south of Ada for 85 years, passed away Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at the age of 93. Services will be conducted by family at Criswell Chapel Tuesday at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Ran, the last child of Edward and Canzada Loman Newton, as born Dec. 8, 1911, in Ada. He married Arvilla McFarland Jan. 12, 1935. She preceded him in death in 1964. He was also preceded by his parents; his brothers Jay and Don; sisters Laura Newton and Nellie Dew; and granddaughter Carrie King. Ran was a successful farmer all his life and a faithful member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by his daughter Luvenia King and son-in-law Jim, Longview, Texas; sons Van and wife Rosie, Durant, Jan and wife Faye, Durant, and Ricky and wife Sheau-Lin, Fort Worth, Texas. He is also survived by his sister, Irene McFarland, Dallas, Texas; brother-in- law Clyde McFarland, Fort Worth; nine grandchildren; 25 great- grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
