Thompson Ray H. Thompson, 88, of Gridley died Jan. 10, 2006, at Live Oak Manor in Live Oak. Born in Francis, Okla., he was a Mid-Valley resident for 44 years. He was a painter and owned and operated Thompson Trailer Manufacturers in Gridley. He was stationed overseas while serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Inez Thompson of Gridley; a son, General Smith Jr. of Davis, Okla.; four daughters, Donna Fassler, Patricia Shackleford and Deborah Kelsey, all of Gridley, and Barbara Wilson of Oroville; two brothers, Raymond Thompson of Chickasha, Okla., and C.A. Thompson of Ada, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers; a grandson; and a granddaughter. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel, 679 Ohio St., Gridley. Services: A graveside service is at 10 a.m. Friday at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery, 2023 Highway 99, Gridley. Rev. Jerry Pinkley of Thermalito Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery in Gridley.
