James Densman officiating. Interment was in Dolberg Cemetery with Krien Funeral Home, Sulphur, in charge of arrangements. Born October 30, 1918 in Roff to Bert and Bessie Threadgill, he died Tuesday, May 9 in Ardmore. He grew up in the Roff and Dolberg areas. While working in Fort Worth, Texas, he met and married Dorothy Mae Hoffman. The couple was married 52 years until her death last year. In 1939, he enlisted and served in WW II where he was wounded in action in Europe. He received the Purple Heart, American Defense Service Medal and European, African, Middle Eastern Service Medal. After his military discharge in September, 1945, he began work for the railroad and the couple built their home by themselves in Crowley, Texas. He retired as office supervisor for Lone Star Gas Company. His favorite hobbies were fishing and playing cards. Surviving are one daughter, Jo Ann Soccio and husband, Greg, Wylie, Texas; three grandchildren, Stephen, Amy and Emily and three great grandchildren.
