All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Happy Camp Cemetery--Happy Camp CA Foley, Marcia May MARCIA MAY FOLEY of Hamburg, California, went to be with her Lord on March 29th, 2007 at Madrone Hospice, in Yreka, California. She died after a long and valiant five-year battle against lung cancer. She was 68 years old. Marcia was born on August 15, 1938, in Ada, Oklahoma as Marcia May Rogers, and moved to Fontana, CA when she was 9 years old. She was a member of the first graduating class of Fontana High School i n 1956. Marcia married and became Marcia Stumpf shortly thereafter. She devoted herself to her family, becoming a Den Mother for her son's Cub Scout troupe, being a Room Mother for their classes, and participating in all of the boy's activities. Later, she served as a Teacher's Aid for many years in the Fontana School District. After raising her three sons and spending nearly 35 years in Fontana, she moved to Happy Camp, CA., Siskiyou County in 1987. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many people. Her family looked on her as the glue that held the family together for many years. After moving to Northern California, she embarked of a career that included a craft business that she created and then later as a partner in a large recreational mining supply business, which she helped build from the ground up. She then turned her talents to include editing a full color national mining publication. She then went on to become a very talented website designer. Marcia was a nationally recognized a uthority on recreational mining and a pillar of the mining community. She was passionate about the dangers she saw regarding prohibitive regulations and lawsuits that threatened the entire national mining industry. She became very effective in fighting for miner's rights. Later in life, Marcia remarried James Foley in Alaska. Marcia felt that the some of the best years in her life were her later years, spent with her loving husband. Marcia was preceded in death by her grand parents, Lola and Sam McClure, Fo ntana, CA; Her mother, Dora Boles, San Bernardino, CA; Her father, Marcus Newton Rogers, Corpus Christi, TX; and her son Billy Stumpf, Long Beach, CA. Marcia is survived by her husband James Foley, Hamburg, CA; Her sons, Daniel and David Stumpf, Oregon City, OR; Sister, Sarah Kay Rice, San Bernardino, CA.; Brother Everette Ray Rogers, San Bernardino, CA.; Brother Reggie Rogers, League City, TX.; Sister, Charlotte Seals, Orange, TX; Aunt, Sami Rogers, Price, UT. Uncle, John McClure, San Bernardino, CA.; Thre e grandchildren; Cory and Callie May Stumpf and Holli Basinger. 8 nephews and 5 nieces, Carolyn Evans, Dennis Cartwright, Ronald Cartwright, Tina Walker, Scott Brodie, Jenny Dzendzel, Marcus Rogers, Reggie Rogers, Russell Rogers, Reed Rogers, Reagan Rogers, Dylan Seals, and Cheryl Seals. Marcia will be sorely missed; her sweet and loving spirit was a reflection of her walk with her Lord. Even in the midst of her battle against cancer, she always thought of others first. She determined that she would use thi s illness to help others who may be afflicted with cancer. She diligently researched and chronicled everything she could that might help someone deal with the ravaging effects of cancer.
