Ken Angel officiating with the help of the Rev. George Vance. Burial will be at Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie, Okla. "Granny" went to meet her sweet Jesus on Dec. 22, 2009. She left this world from Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. She was born June 12, 1924 in Finley, Okla. to Oren and Lavonia Martin. She attended school at St. Louis, Okla. She worked at Douglas Aircraft where she met Ernest Edwin Shreffler II. They were married in 1945. They were married 48 years. They owned and operated Ernie's Automotive from 1960 to 1986. She worked as an automotive electrician. She worked as a farmer, she helped logging timber and she rebuilt generators, alternators and rewound armatures by hand. She loved working in church for the Lord. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years, and also worked in the kitchen for the Church of God Youth Camps for almost 10 years. She was an amazing prayer warrior and no matter who you were, she would give you a hug and she never met a stranger. She also loved to sing and entertain kids. She also loved to collect rocks. She was the rock of her family. Nannie Lois (Shreffler) Nelson, "A True Picture of Love." She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Edwin Shreffler II; one daughter Virginia Byrd and six infants, names unknown; parents Oren and Lavonia Martin; two brothers, Leon and Louis Martin; and sister Opal Jayne. Survivors include three daughters Sue Hazlitt, Stratford, Okla., Rozanna Grove and husband Dwight, Ada, Okla., and Anna Mekki, Barrow, Alaska; one son Ernist Edwin III and wife Kim, McAlester, Okla.; four brothers, Harold Martin and wife Ada of Winston, Ore., James Martin and wife Rose of Carson City, Nev., Dean Martin and wife Olivia of Morgan Hill, Calif., and Tom Martin of Tupelo, Okla.; two sisters Donna McMahan and husband Frank of Redding, Calif., and Juanita Gallo of Gilroy, Calif.; 19 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and another due in March. Bearers will be Rick Byrd, Bobby Byrd, Jason Byrd, Doron Shreffler, Zachary Shreffler and Aaron Shreffler.
