All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Coalgate Cemetery--Coalgate OK *Ada Evening News, Ada, OK, Pontotoc County Sunday, October 11, 2009 IKEY TRAYLOR COALGATE — Funeral services for Ikey Traylor will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Brown's Funeral Chapel, Coalgate, Okla. Burial follows at the Coalgate Cemetery. Officiating will be Bobby Graham. Ikey died at home on his ranch Thursday October 8, 2009. Ikey was born July 17, 1929, at Adel, Oklahoma to Laurenia and Adolphus Traylor. He attended school at Tupelo, Clarita and graduated from Olney in 1948. He was a member of the First Church of God of Tupelo. He was a lifetime rancher, retiring from the Mack Alford Correction Facility, also worked several years at the Army Ammunition Plant in Savanna. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Tommy Traylor and granddaughter Kellie Traylor. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Ruby Traylor, of the home; daughter Karen Griffiths of Ada, OK; son Dean and Tammy Traylor of Tuttle, OK; sister Ethel Morlan of Torrence, Calif., sister Lillie Archer of Tupelo, Okla., sister Lucille Thorton of Lake Isabella, Calif., brother Doyle and Vickie Traylor, Coalgate, brother Rick Traylor, Coalgate; granddaughters Tara Daugherty, Whitney Griffiths of Ada, Trina and Rusty Carter of Holdenville, Tracy Traylor of OKC, Katie Shelton, Stillwater; grandsons, Keith Traylor, Tuttle and Kyle Shelton, Tuttle. Pallbearers are Dolphus Archer, Wymon Traylor, Ferlin Traylor, Ferman Traylor, Nicky Beal and Ronnie Hampton. Honorary bearers are Howard Ables, Alfred Riley, John Hampton, Gene Jordan, Billy Hayworth, Tubby Ables, Boyd Lewis, Don Lawrence and Johnny West. Ikey had a strong passion for raising cattle and playing music.
