Burial follows at Athens Cemetery. Mrs. Clark died Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born Aug. 29, 1915, at Saratoga, Ark., to Will Stewart and Nazrene Hopkins Stewart. She married Jack Johnson Clark on May 16, 1942, at Madill. He died Oct. 15, 1985, at Ada. During Mrs. Clark's husband's service in the Army/Air Force, the family traveled across the United States. After his retired from the military, they moved to Ada. Mrs. Clark was a housekeeper and a longtime active member of Hammond Heights Church of Christ for many years. When she moved to Oklahoma City, she attended the Estes Park Church of Christ. Survivors include a daughter, Jacklyn Watson and husband Larry, Oklahoma City; a grandson, Kenyatta "Ken" Clark and wife Torayia, Oklahoma City; two granddaughters, Krissy Dorsey and Roberta Dorsey, Oklahoma City; seven great-grandchildren, Kristopher Dorsey, Kino Martin, Trinity Martin, Jackson Clark, Morgan Clark, Lauryn Clark and Jaylen Willis; a brother, Lewis Edward Crosby and wife Aurora, Kansas City, Kan. (Harden) Crawford. Mary grew up in Ada, Oklahoma. She attended East Central State College, in Ada, Oklahoma, as well as the University of Oklahoma. Mary finished her undergraduate degree at Texas Women's University. She married George Glen Gaffaney on June 12, 1952. They had three children, all of whom are surviving: Pamela L. McCurrach and her husband David of Columbia,TN; James Michael of Garland, TX; and Thomas Andrew and his wife Fern of Forney, TX. She is survived by five grandchildren: Braden McCurrach of New York City, Ashley McCurrach of Denver, CO, Kendal Lasota and her husband Jake of Jacksonville, FL, Kyle Gaffaney and his wife Amanda with their daughter Payton Stationed in Norfolk, VA with the US Navy and Tara Gaffaney of San Antonio, TX. Mary is also survived by a sister, Pat Bell and her husband Dan and her children Dave Ponder and Christy Ponder; and a brother, Phillip his wife Denie and their hildren Stacey Sulzen and Candy McNeese. Mary was preceded in death by her parents. Mary taught at White Rock Elementary school in the Richardson Independent School District for 10 years. She returned to school to receive her graduate degree from East Texas State College and then worked at Jackson Middle School in the Garland Independent School District as a counselor for 11 years. Mary was a member of the Chickasaw Indian Nation of which she was very proud. Her mother was an original enrollee in the Dawes Commission Rolls. Her uncle, Bill Crawford, was a former mayor of Ada. Another uncle, Tal Crawford, was a Pontotoc County judge. He was asked to travel to Germany after WWII to be one of the judges representing the United States in the Nuremberg Trials in Germany. Her father was an Assistant District Attorney in Okfuskee County. Mary paternal grandfather and maternal great grandfather were both ministers of the good news of Jesus Christ! The two greatest things that brought her joy were her family and her Lord. Mary was very active in Christian work. She volunteered at her church, St. James Episcopal Church, at the Austin Street Homeless Shelter, a nursing home, as well led Bible Studies in her home. She took both family and friends to theatrical plays, symphonies, museums and the arboretum. She was an encouragement to many with her positive attitude and smile!! A master of great conversation, Ray spent countless hours with friends and family entertaining and fascinating his friends, children and grandchildren with tales of his life and travel. A sheet metal worker for several decades, he helped build some of the largest structures in Oklahoma and always left a memorable and fond impression with everyone he met. He held a strong faith in God and was a Baptist. A wartime veteran, Ray served his country with honor in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Mrs. Roberts previously owned Paula's Pharmacy and had been employed with the Chickasaw Nation as a pharmacist. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, where she served as the Youth Director for the church for many years, a member of the Tanti Study Club and P.E.O., and had served on the Ada Planning and Zoning Commission. Mrs. Roberts was a pharmacist for the Compassion Outreach Center, a free clinic in Ada and had traveled throughout the world on 10 medical mission trips. They were married 41 years before she died in 1998. Mr. Haines moved to the Union Hill Community west of Ada in 1940. He attended Union Hill and Vanoss Public Schools while growing up and he graduated from Vanoss in 1948. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in business from East Central University in Ada in May 1952. He moved to West Cliff, Colo., where he taught at Custer County High School and moved back to Ada and received a master's degree in business. He taught at Vanoss Public School until 1978. He also worked as a warehouse director for Gallup Construction Company until 1985 and he delivered locally for Eldridge Propane Service until 2003. In 1985 he was elected to the Vanoss Board of Education and served until his retirement in December 2009. He was a member of the Pontotoc County Retired Educators, the Vanoss Alumni Association, and Union Hill Baptist Church. He was the loving husband of the late Julia Ann Long Cooksey. He was born on March 24, 1926 in Brownsville, Texas and lived many years in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. He was a veteran of WWII where he served in the 10th Armored Division under General Patton. The US Army awarded him a Bronze star for his heroism. Joe was a loving father to Tom Cooksey of Brandon, Mississippi, Paul Cooksey of Jackson, Mississippi and LuAnn (Dave) Wilks of Black Mountain, NC. He was the adored grandfather "Poppie" to seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Sally Cooksey and brothers, Lawrence and Jerry Cooksey. Joe retired to Black Mountain, NC in 1996 after a long career as a successful business man in Jackson, Miss. Joe enjoyed hiking in the mountains with all of the neighborhood dogs and actively cared for his grandchildren. He was the central figure in his family. He was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church in Black Mountain, NC. Joe was always there for his family and friends. He touched all with his generosity, kindness and ready smile even at the end of his life. He will be missed dearly by all those that knew and loved him-even the dogs that came to see him every day. He later married Tommie Myton Lewis on May 12, 1972. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II at the age of 16 and served during most of the War on the U.S.S. Independence. He was also stationed on the U.S.S. Tracy, the U.S.S. White Plains and the U.S.S. Casablanca. Mr. Oliver was a retired banker, having begun his career at the Fourth National Bank of Tulsa in the early 1950s. He also served at banks in Siloam Springs, Ark., Shawnee, Okla., and in McAlester, Okla. He received his college degree with the School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin and also served as a federal bank examiner for a number of years. Mr. Oliver was active in the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks (Lodge 657), where he served as Exalted Ruler and District Deputy. He also served as president of several Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs in Shawnee and McAlester. The Revs. Charles McKamy and Burtis Williams will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Brady died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at a local nursing home. She was born Aug. 30, 1911, at Konawa to William Isaac and Effie Dorice Chastain Aldridge. She attended Vamoosa schools. She and her family moved to Ada in 1948 from Wewoka and to the Latta community in 1949. She married Clarence Dinwiddie in 1929. He died in 1938. She later married Charles Edward Brady on Aug. 9, 1941, in Wewoka. He died May 1983. Mrs. Brady was a homemaker. She was a longtime active member of Missionary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, singing solos and quartets and was a pianist. She was an active member of Latta Home Demonstration Club. Survivors include a son, Charles Edward Brady II and wife Carla, Elmore City; a daughter, Linda Williams and husband Burtis, Abilene, Texas; a sister, Marie Chiara, Lakewood, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Florence Brady, Lake San Marcos, Calif.; five grandchildren, Phyllis Kunze and husband Jim, Forrest Danley and wife Leah, Steven Williams and wife Jenny, David Williams and wife Eileen, and Charles Edward Brady III and wife Penni; 13 great-grandchildren, Andy Taylor, Evan Taylor and Deanna, Whitney Davis, Mariah Danley, Alyssa Danley, Ryan Danley, Dema Williams, Sager Williams, Lacey Lagan, Jessica Williams, Dalton Brady Williams, Charles Edward Brady IV, and Calin Brady; one great-great-grandson, Dexter Taylor; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Wanita Danley Plunk; a son-in-law, James Danley; an infant daughter; a granddaughter, Mari Lea Danley Davis; one brother; and four sisters. ADA - Services for the Rev. Peter James Wall, Jr., 82, Ada are 2 p.m. Saturday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Bob Haskins will officiate and be assisted by the Rev. Steve Wall. Burial will follow at High Hill Cemetery. Choctaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery. The Rev. Wall died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at a local hospital. He was born Feb. 15, 1928, at Albion, Okla., to Peter James Wall Sr. and Isbell Noah Wall. He has also lived at Tishomingo, Davis, Sulphur, San Jose area of California and most recently at Ada, Okla. He graduated from Albion High School in 1947. The Rev. Wall served as a sergeant in the Army during the Korean Conflict and earned the Combat Infantry Award, Asiatic Pacifica Campaign Award, Korean Service Award, Good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged in 1952. He married Mary Lois Brown in 1952 at Fort Smith, Ark. She preceded him in death in August 1995. He later married Gale A. Abbott on April 25, 1998 at Hickory Hill Baptist Church, Fittstown. The Rev. Wall started Baptist churches in San Jose, Calif., Tishomingo and Madill, Okla., and pastored other churches at Sulphur, Fittstown and Ada. Most recently he was pastor emeritus of Archard Road Baptist Church, Madill. Survivors include his wife Gale Wall, of the home; a daughter, Denise Barnhart and husband Joe, Valley Springs, Calif.; a son, the Rev. Stephen Gene Wall, Ardmore; stepchildren, Kent Abbott and wife Jalee, Hydro, Okla., Becky Abbott Thrift and husband David, Piedmont, Victoria Abbott Tribble and husband Michael, Piedmont, and Daniel Abbott and wife Gloria, Hydro; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and 16 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and six sisters, Justine, Emaline, Pauline, Melba Jean, Thelma and Reba. Bearers will be Bryce Wall, Wyatt Wall, Carl Marris, Lloyd Parnacher, Johnny Wallace and Charles James. Honorary bearers will be the pastors of the Chi-Ka-Sha Baptist Association churches.
