Burial was at Kansas Veteran's Cemetery, Winfield. Mr. Walden died Monday, Sept. 26, 2011. He was a U.S. Army and World War II veteran. Harold Ware officiating. Burial follows at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka. Mrs. Sanders died Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at a local nursing home. She was born Jan. 1, 1931, in Kumamoto, Japan, to Megumi and Tsuru Kodama Harada. She moved to America in 1971 from Japan and moved to Ada in 1979. She married Donald Lee Sanders on Nov. 16, 1970, in Japan. He died Aug. 9, 1993. Mrs. Sanders retired from Wrangler/VF Corp. of Ada in 1996. She became a Christian in 1998 and was a longtime member of the Abiders Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church. Survivors include two nieces, Mie Saito and Mika Yoshitake, both of Japan. Mrs. Smith died Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at a local hospital. She was born March 12, 1915, at Franks to James Luther and Minnie Colbert Akers. She attended Franks grade school and graduated from Stonewall High School. She married Kenneth O. Smith on Dec. 21, 1933, in Ada. He died Jan. 15, 1994. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and had also served as a Pontotoc County Election Board precinct worker. She was a 50-year member and a Past Worthy Matron of Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 78 in Ada, and a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation. Survivors include a daughter, Laurel Turley and her husband Don L. Burial is 3 p.m. at Bohannon Cemetery, south of Stuart. Mr. Davis died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, at a local hospital. He was born Aug. 25, 1928, in Ashland to Arthur E. and Opal Victoria Campbell Davis. He graduated from Ashland High School. He married Ova V. “Tubby” Wood on June 27, 1955, in Ada. Mr. Davis was a carpenter for Ideal Cement, now Holcim. He retired after more than 40 years of service. He was an active member of First Baptist Church where he served with the bus ministry and choir. Mr. Davis served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife, Tubby Davis, of the home; two sons, Mark Davis, Sulphur, and Steve Davis, Indianola; a daughter, Sonja Potts and her husband Kevin, Norman; two grandchildren, Jaime Kliewer and husband J. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Konawa. Mr. Lowry died Friday, Sept. 30, 2011. He was was born Dec. 8, 1954, in Seminole to Wanda Gaines Lowry and Rex Wortham Lowry. He married Kathleen DeLonais on May 25, 1974, in Konawa. Mr. Lowry served as a Pottawatomie County Reserve Deputy Sheriff for 24 years. He was a certified welder and an oil producer for more than 30 years and has been a network consultant for Ada Public Schools since 1996. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and served on the parish council. He served as president of Sacred Heart Mission Historical Society since 1987. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Lowry of the home; his twin daughters Michelle Jesse and husband, Todd Jesse of Konawa, and Melissa Wilson and fiancé, James Griffin of Mansfield, Texas; one son, Jason Lowry and wife, Kandice Lowry of Shawnee; and his nephew, Heath Lowry, who he considered his own, and his wife Rachele Lowry of Konawa; his mother, Wanda Lowry, Konawa, one sister, Debbie Jackson and husband, Danny Jackson; two brothers, Ronnie Lowry and Ricky Lowry, both of Konawa, six grandchildren, Mikala Wilson, Colten Jesse, Mikinley Wilson, Jaden Jesse, Mikenna Wilson, and Karsyn Lowry; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews, friends, and loved ones. His wishes were to be cremated and have his ashes dispersed in the Gulf of Mexico. Mr. Boudreaux died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at his home. He was born Sept. 17, 1946, in New Orleans, La., to Paul and Cecile Waguespack Boudreaux. He graduated from Nichols State University with a double major in physics and math. He married Sherry E. Wood at Lake Murray, Oklahoma on June 15, 1984. She died Aug. 5, 1995. Mr. Boudreaux was employed by Baker SE Service Company developing the first multi-acting sleeve for gravel packing. He also invented several other patents while employed with the company. Next he worked for U.S. Industries where he developed a program to reduce pneumatic platform shut down time from two minutes to 15 seconds. In 1999, he was asked to establish a “Health Plan” for the country of Hungary and after several trips to Budapest a plan was implemented and put into effect. Mr. Boudreaux was a banking and mortgage loan officer in Norman until retiring in 2008. He served in the U.S. Navy. Survivors include his companion, Jenny Dove, of the home; a daughter, Shannon Boudreaux, Houston, Texas; a brother, Jeffry Boudreaux, New Orleans, La.; and several nieces and nephews. Glenn Peck will officiate. Roberts died Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, while serving in the line of duty as the warrant team leader of the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office. He was born Oct. 29, 1965 in Tulsa to Jessie Don Roberts and Anna Sue (Ford) Roberts. He graduated from Dale High School and married Reinee Kay Brookover in Eureka Springs, Arkansas on Oct. 5, 2007. He was the Ranch Manager for Wing-N-On Cattle Company and Roberts Family Ranches. Roberts was also a reserve deputy for the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office, and a member of the First Baptist Church in St. Louis. Ms. Jeffcoat graduated from Northside High School in Fort Smith, Ark. in 1959. She moved to Ada from Broken Arrow in 2006. She was a seamstress for Blue Bell/Wrangler and had also worked as a clerk at Gibson’s Discount Store. She was of the Baptist faith. Allen was born April 26, 1953, to Helen and Amos Summers of Roff. He attended Roff Public Schools from 1-12th grades and went on to study English and History at East Central University in Ada. Allen became well-known in the oil industry for the hard work ethic he possessed and won a number of safety awards with his crew. He had a career change when he started his own independent trucking business hauling materials for road, housing and commercial development throughout Oklahoma. In 2006, Allen laid pen to paper and published a number of children’s books and science fiction/fantasy novels with his partner, Valera Ainsworth. He was a longtime member of the Maxwell Holiness Church. In addition to serving in the Army, Curtis worked as a farrier, shipyard laborer, and road construction worker. Curtis spent more than 30 years working for Corff Sand and Gravel in various locations in Oklahoma. He was a heavy equipment operator, truck driver, explosives technician and foreman. After retirement, Curtis continued his love of farming and also worked for Bob’s Dirt Service as a dozer operator and hay baler. Curtis was an avid baseball fan, and his favorite professional team was the St. Louis Cardinals. Curtis also enjoyed watching the Asher Indians baseball and softball teams, especially if one of his grandchildren was playing. He enjoyed coon hunting and won numerous trophies with his dog, Amos. He received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from East Central State College, and a Doctorate from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. He married Harol Deane Haney on February 2, 1952 in Weleetka. She preceded him in death on July 19, 2002 in Ada. Dr. Parsons served as principal of both Pharoah and Graham High Schools before moving to the Weleetka Public Schools where he served as Superintendent of Schools. In 1966, he joined the East Central State College Department of Education, where in addition to teaching, he enjoyed supervising student teachers. While at East Central, Dr. Parsons also served as Vice President for Student Services/Dean of Students, Vice President for Development/University Services and Personnel, and as Interim University President from 1988-1989. Dr. Parsons was elected to serve on the Ada City Council, served as Mayor of Ada and was an active member of the Ada Lions Club. He served as President of the Ada Chamber of Commerce in 1980, and was elected to the East Central University Educator’s Hall of Fame in 2010. Dr. Parsons was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ada and he had served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the Normandy Invasion. She worked as the owner and operator of numerous restaurants for many years. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. Mr. Phillips died on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, in Ada. He was born June 10, 1925, in Francis to William P. and Etta Bond Phillips. He attended school and graduated from Francis School. He lived in this area all his life. He worked at Ada Iron and metal for several years, and at British Oxygen Company until retirement. He was of the Baptist faith. He married June Myers on April 22, 2002, in Sherman, Texas. Robert passed away on October 23rd at Spring Valley Hospital. He graduated from Cimmaron Memorial High School in 1994. He worked most of his adult life in copier sales and as a technician. Robert loved baseball, UNLV football and basketball. He was a very kind, loving and compassionate person who will be greatly missed. Robert moved to Ada Oklahoma in November of 2008. Ada was the home of his Great Grandparents Joe Monroe Smith and Stella Mae Stewart Smith. His Grand Father Joe Bryon Smith was also born in Ada. Robert’s Great Grandparents later moved the family to Holdenville Oklahoma. Robert left Ada and returned to Las Vegas in June of 2010. Robert was preceded in death by his Grandparents Joe and Hazel Smith, his Mother Shirley Smith-Lee. Perry passed away at his Austin, TX home on Oct. 17th, 2011, at the age of 90. Joe was born February 27th, 1921 in Paoli, OK to Joseph & Alpha Perry, one of 11 children. He grew up in Paoli, OK, graduating from Paoli High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he was a B-17 Bomber co-pilot, 8th Air Force/92nd Bomb Group. He flew 23 combat missions over Germany. After WWII, Joe returned home & married his high school sweetheart LaDell Hill. Together they raised four children. He remained in the Air Force Reserves through his adult life, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He also served his community as a member in the Civil Defense program in Ada, OK. Through the years he worked for AT&T, owned an electronics repair business, and moved to Ada, OK to establish Perry’s Laundromats. He operated the business for 37 years before retiring. Joe had a love for music, ham radio, computers & photography. He enjoyed entertaining friends, hosting many in-home dances over the years. Above all, Joe provided his family with many happy memories and endless love and support. He will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his wife LaDell. Survived by his four children, Pam Perry, Marc Perry, Lynn Perry and wife Debbie, Paul Perry and wife Teresa. Burial follows at Fort Gibson National Cemetery. The United States Marine Corps is providing the burial honors team. Mr. Owens died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at his home. He was born in Byng to Jim and Laura Walker Owens on Dec. 5, 1937. He had lived in Muskogee for about one year, moving here from Ada. Mr. Owens enlisted in the Marine Corps on Dec. 7, 1955. He received his commission of second lieutenant on May 24 1962, and rose to the rank of major and retired on Jan. 1, 1978. He was distinguished as the only Marine to be a team leader at the Army Special Forces Warfare Training Center at Fort Bragg, N.C. Among the many awards and achievements Mr. Owens received included the Silver and Bronze Stars for heroism and valor. His military service is not limited to his official file, which only reflects unclassified achievements, but many other acts of self-sacrifice for his country noted by civilian authors. He commanded a Force Recon Unit for two tours in Vietnam. He was also skilled with additional specialties in scuba diving and underwater demolitions, with the Army and Navy. He was parachute qualified in the Marines and a qualified Jumpmaster with the Army. He retired from the Marines after 22 years, then worked in law enforcement until 2001. He is survived by his wife Dana; three sons, Justin Owens, Derick Owens and Mitch Owens; a daughter Britney Owens; a brother James Owens; two sisters, Sharon Sayre and Betty Allred; grandchildren, Ayden Owens, Amaya Owens, Justin Owens, Cody Owens Catherine Owens, Aylin Alvarez, Adriana Alvarez and Carson Owens. She was a member of First Christian Church of Ada for many years and later became a member of Texhoma Southern Baptist Church in Kingston. She and Berry G. Orebaugh were married Dec. 16, 1951. He died Nov. 11, 1996. Survivors include two sons, Jerel W. Choate and wife Karen, Austin, and David E. Orebaugh, Ada; one daughter, Lou Anne Evans and husband Jim, Lawrenceville, Ga.; and one brother, L.A. Duyck and wife Lee Anne, Plano, Texas.
