In 1927, the family lost their farm during the Depression, and they moved to Mesa, Arizona. It was here that Louise learned to read music, due to a wonderful teacher, and she became both a teacher and a musician as a result. There was always a piano in her home growing up, and throughout her life. Louise attended Warrensburg State University, in Warrensburg, Missouri, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She met and married a soldier, Byron de Marse Johnson, Jr., in 1944 (after WWII) and they moved to Ada, Oklahoma soon after. Her husband, Byron, passed away in 1970 after 26 years of marriage and two children. In 1978 she married Walter Peter Moranetz, a widower, and they were together for over 27 years until his passing in 2006. His daughters became like hers and she loved them, and their children as well. Her longtime involvement in the community is noteworthy: Elder of First Christian Church (member for over 60 years), Choir Director of First Christian Church, President of Pontotoc County Teachers, Chairman of the “Little Red Schoolhouse” Committee, member of Act II, member of Ada Arts and Heritage, past member of AAUW, past member of Delta Kappa Gamma, member of Oklahoma Education Association, member of PEO, and District Chairman of the Retired Principals Association of Oklahoma (where she was awarded the 1993 “Very Important Member” award.)
