Brown's Funeral Service, Coalgate ================================================================================================================ The Ada News, Ada, OK, Pontotoc County Thursday, September 27, 2012 ***PAID OBITUARY*** CAROL ANN HENDLEY ADA — Carol Ann Hendley, was born on Monday, October 30th, 1944 in Ada, Oklahoma to Jim Lyndon Thompson and Edna Azalea Roper. Born and raised in Ada, Carol grew into a woman who had never ending perseverance, was strong willed, tenacious, and wouldn’t let anyone tell her that she couldn’t do something. There was a passion inside of her that was unbridled, and a determination that was unstoppable. At the age of 18, Carol moved to Wewoka and blessed the world with her first child, Lea Ann Ryles. Within the next few years, she had returned back to her hometown of Ada, and welcomed her second child, her son, Jay Howard Ryles. She was a loving mother who always put her children first. It is evident that being a mother was Carol’s greatest accomplishment. Carol worked in Production for Sun Petroleum, and, in 1978, Charles Wesley Hendley, a Chemical Engineer for the same company, met his soon to be wife. Surrounded by family, the couple wed on December 15, 1979. The newlyweds would then reside in Pauls Valley. Wanting to be closer to family, the Hendleys made the decision to move to Edmond in 1994. Upon her move, Carol immediately submerged herself in the community, joining numerous bridge clubs, the Newcomers Club, and an investment club. Carol also began working with the US Census. Doing what she did best, meeting new people, and getting to know them. She stayed with the Census for 10 years. She also became a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Edmond. During the weekends, you could find Carol surrounded by the laughter and company of friends and family, whether it was playing Bunko, Bingo, at the casino, or, often times, huddled around her formal dining room table playing games until all hours of the night. She would often enjoy going to the casino, or playing bingo. Her motto was, “I can hurt at home, sitting on the couch, or hurt while doing something that I enjoy!” At 9:30, Monday, September 17, 2012, surrounded by photographs of grandchildren and great grandchildren, with Charles and Lea Ann by her side, Carol Ann Hendley passed. She is preceded in death by her brother, Don Thompson, her Mother Edna, and her father Jim. During her 67 years, she was an extraordinary mother, loving wife, a joyful grandmother to 11, and great grandmother to 10. In lieu of flowers and donations, the family humbly requests in return, that all contributions go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for The Cure. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Ada News, Ada, OK, Pontotoc County Thursday, September 27, 2012 MARY JUANITA COULSON ADA — Funeral services for Mary Juanita Coulson, 85, Ada, are 2 p.m. Friday at Southwest Church of Christ in Ada.
