Criswell Funeral Home, Ada ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Ada News, Ada, OK, Pontotoc County Sunday, September 15, 2013 ***PAID OBITUARY*** MEREDITH EASTER “MARC” ETIER, died Labor Day, Sept 2, 2013 at his home in Happyland, Okla (outside of Ada city limits). His heart simply stopped beating and we suspect he flew quickly and happily into the arms of Jesus . He was the third child born Oct. 6, 1947 to Elvin H. Etier “Spec” and Lee Eleanor Donaghe Etier “Lucy” at Valley View Hospital in Ada, Okla. Easter was the maiden name of his beloved grandmother, Lula Belle Easter Donaghe. Marc graduated from Ada High School, attended East Central University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Art’s Degree, and received a Master of Art’s degree in 1975 from San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico where he lived for almost five years loving every single laid back fresh squeezed orange juice moment. Marc lived for a short time in Colorado and returned to Ada to teach pottery/art classes at East Central for over twenty years. Marc was a kind, gentle soul who was constantly reminding us to keep it simple and take a walk in the woods from time to time. He really tried to show us that living simple is a good thing and that life did not have to be fast and crazy. He was tender and warm and found value in everything and everyone. He was awed by the beauty around him and he saw treasures where many of us do not. Marc loved the ladies, he loved his garden, he loved his plants and flowers, he loved his home and land, and truly loved making pottery. He lived his life exactly as he wished and did not change it for anyone or anything. He never married or had children but he had so many people who adored him so he was never lonely. He never spoke ill of anyone. We know he will be waiting for us in jeans/shorts and flip flops with that crazy brimmed hat on his head and a smile on his face. Marc was downright happy to see all who visited him in Happyland and he took time to relax and enjoy the conversation. We hope he is the master potter of heaven and is turning out real beauties for everyone to enjoy. Marc will be forever especially loved by his sister, Jill, and many, many friends and family members. Marc was truly a gift to all who knew him and he will be missed by so many. Marc’s cremated body will be buried at Mill Creek, Okla. in the Etier family plot at a later date. There will be a celebration of his life at the time of burial by close family and friends. His friends have had a “celebration party” in his honor where they remembered him with pictures and stories. Everyone is certain Marc is stinkin’ happy and wishing we could see what we all have to look forward to. No doubt he has umpteen friends by now so kick back, relax, and know you will see Marc again if you do the right thing. He is waiting for us by the side of his beloved Mom and Dad, grandparents, his best buddy brother Alan, other family members who have gone ahead, and a whole slew of friends. They were waiting with open arms next to Jesus when Marc arrived to welcome him into his new home. Everything is good! Marc got his wish to go quickly and without suffering – what a lucky guy! The Etier ancestors are: E. H, Roland, Bennett, Pierre Jr., Pierre, Jean Joseph, Pierre, Rene, Leonard, and Etienne (1615, France). ================================================================================================================ The Ada News, Ada, OK, Pontotoc County Tuesday, September 17, 2013 ANDREW GIBSON GONYER SASAKWA — Funeral services for Andrew Gibson Gonyer, 97, Sasakwa, are 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, with Pastor Wesley Martin and the the Rev.
