Interment will follow at the Mill Creek Cemetery. A wake service is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. today at Hale’s Funeral Home in Sulphur. Dennis was born Oct. 13, 1955, in Ada to Andris J. “Yellow Wolf” and Oretha (Emerson) Hamilton. He died Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, in Oklahoma City at the age of 58. Dennis, a lifelong resident of Mill Creek, was a 1973 graduate of Mill Creek High School. He spent 25-plus years working at the Unimin Sand Plant prior to retirement. Most recently, Dennis worked as a houseman at the Artesian Hotel in Sulphur. Survivors include two sons, Derek Hamilton and wife, Michelle, of Ardmore and Clovis Hamilton and wife, Catie, of Ada; two daughters, Laura Hamilton and JR Komalty of Anadarko and Deidra Hamilton and Joseph Arles of Mill Creek; his mother, Oretha Ledford of Marlow; eight grandchildren, Taylor, Joslyn, Trinity, Tristyn, Kyra, Creed, Kiley and Haylee; three sisters, Angela Richardson, Denice Larance and Robbin Howard; as well as one brother, Ricky Hamilton. Dennis was preceded in death by his father, “Yellow Wolf,” and his stepfather, James Ledford. He was born Jan. 19, 1957, in Rockdale, Texas, to Monora and I. B. Bounds Jackson. He attended Rockdale, Texas, schools and also Southern Nazarene University in Bethany for four years. He married Sherry June Sliger on Sept. 12, 1980. She preceded him in death on Sept. 10, 2008. Mr. Jackson was a forklift operator for George Fisher Mfg. Company and a member of the Ada Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include a son, Jarrod Jackson of Ada; a daughter, Jayce Jackson of Ada; two sisters, Barbara Sue Needham and her husband, Billy, of Cameron, Texas, and Rosemary Gerthe and her husband, Chris, of Ruidoso, N.M.; a brother, Johnny Jackson and his wife, Sandy, of Rockdale, Texas; and a granddaughter, Payten Pratt. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Stonewall. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Criswell Funeral Home. Mr. Crabtree died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, in Ada. He was born Jan. 2, 1933, at Lane to William and Addie Lee Crabtree. He attended grade school at Lane and graduated from McLish High School in 1952. While at McLish, he was a basketball player and was on the All-State Team. He married Ina Marie Griffin on Dec. 31, 1952, at Harden City. Mr. Crabtree was employed with Trader Mills for 35 years as a salesman, driver and production manager and retired as the general manager in 1993. He was a longtime member of Fittstown Church of Christ. Mr. Crabtree bred quarter horses for over 40 years and he had served on the Big 5 board of directors from 2002 until 2012. Mr. Crabtree served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. While in the Army, he played on an Army basketball team. Survivors include his wife, Marie Crabtree, of the home; a daughter, Beth Crabtree of Stonewall; one son, Todd Crabtree and his wife, Joy, of Byng; a brother, Bill Crabtree of Ada; sister, Evelyn Garrett of Albany, Ore.; two granddaughters, Elisabeth Seitz and her husband, C. She was born Feb. 22, 1920, in the Steedman/Kullihoma area to Gipson and Julia Alexander Johnson. She married Joseph Whitley Dickerson on Jan. 17, 1968 in Ada. He preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 1979. As a young girl, she worked in the fields, picking cotton, shaking peanuts and chaffing broom corn at harvest time and she was a ranch laborer. Later, she was a homemaker. Emily is one of the last remaining monolingual speakers of the Chickasaw language. She was a full-blood member of the Chickasaw Nation. She was a Christian and a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Ada. Survivors include two sons, Carlin Thompson and wife, Juanita, of Tulsa, and Joe Looney and wife, Armetta, of Davis; a daughter, Wilma Kincaide and husband, Ron, of Muskogee; a sister, Leona Seckinger of Allen; her grandchildren, Nedra Thompson, Dawn Thompson, Paul Thompson, Carlin Johno Thompson, Shannon Wilson and Rodney Wilson, all of Muskogee, Sarah Arles, Ardmore, and Robert Fixico, Denton, Texas; her great-grandchildren, Helowah Adams, Chase Adams, Yaquin Harjo, Paul Thompson Jr., Micah John, July Thompson, Shelby Field and Jarrin Field, all of Muskogee, and Aaliyah Reynolds and Davonte Smith of Ardmore; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Pipkin died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014. at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born March 24, 1920, in Electra, Texas, to Thomas Muril and Dora May Hutchings Pipkin. He married Gereldeen Smith on Oct. 19, 1940, in Quartzside, Ariz. She preceded him in death in November 1991. Mr. Pipkin worked for the civil service at Norton Air Force Base, San Bernardino, Calif., until 1959. He relocated to Oklahoma, where he worked and retired in 1971 from the U.S. Corps of Engineers. He later retired from District 1, Pontotoc County, in 1984. Mr. Pipkin was a member of the First Baptist Church in Francis and had served as the mayor of Francis. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Shriners. Mr. Pipkin was a veteran of World War II, having fought in the Battle of the Bulge in the European Theatre. He was wounded and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal and three Bronze Stars for Valor. Criswell Funeral Home, Ada =============================================================================================================== The Ada News, Ada, OK, Pontotoc County Thursday, January 9, 2014 ETHEL BERNICE MOORE ROFF — Services for Ethel Bernice Moore, 78, of Roff will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory in Ardmore. Mrs. Moore died Dec. 28, 2013, at Jan Frances Care Center in Ada. She was born Sept. 1, 1935, to Joe and Elizabeth Snider in Dacono, Colo. She attended school there and graduated in 1953. She married Ray Moore on Sept. 11, 1954, in Denver. He preceded her in death Nov. 28, 2005. They had two children together. In 1963, the family moved from Denver to Harsel, Colo., where they operated the General Store and Standard Station. Soon after, they began their herd of registered Texas Longhorn cattle and established Moore’s Longhorn Ranch with cattle operations in Colorado, Kansas and Oklahoma. Mrs. Moore was a homemaker and helped with ranch activities including steer roping, cattle drives, shows and sales. The Moores were the founding members of many Texas Longhorn associations, including the Indian Territory Longhorn Association of Oklahoma, an affiliate of the International Texas Longhorn Association, where Mrs. Moore served as executive director for several years. In the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of America, she assisted with the establishment of the TLBAA “Horn Showcase.” Survivors include a son, Joe Moore and wife, Nancy, of Bucklin, Kan.; daughter, Denise Raley, of Roff; five grandchildren, Shanna Collins and husband, T. The Rev. Harold Ware will officiate. Burial will follow at Pontotoc Cemetery. Mr. Barrett died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at his home. He was born Feb. 18, 1946, in Ada to J. G. “Pete” and Joyce Hammons Barrett. He attended Ada grade school and graduated from Ada High School in 1964. He married Claudene Cravatt on Sept. 29, 1977. She preceded him in death on Feb. 7, 2008. Mr. Barrett was a police officer for the City of Ada until his retirement. He was later a police officer with the East Central University Police Department until retiring. Pete was discharged in 1945 after serving 4 years, 6 months and 16 days with the 8th Air Force. He married Irene Lackey Brower on Feb. 25, 1962. Mr. Peters was an employee of Brown and Root Co. and worked in the North Sea, Nigeria, in the Middle East and many other ports of call as a welder foreman in the oil business. He was a business owner in Trinidad and also operated a laundry, dry cleaners and grocery store at Crazy Corner in Ada. He and his wife owned a ranch south of Ada on which they raised thoroughbred race horses and cattle. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ada and a 32nd degree Mason. Mrs. Williamson was employed for many years as a housekeeper for the Streetman family of Konawa, as well as the Spann, Howard, and Smith families of Ada. She later retired from KTEN television station. Mrs. Williamson attended Bethlehem Baptist Church in Konawa and later she served at St. Joseph Baptist Church of Wewoka, Philemon Missionary Baptist Church and Reaper Missionary Baptist Church both in Ada. While a member of Philemon Missionary Baptist Church, she served as a Missionary Society Member, choir member, Children’s Sunday school teacher and Director of the Royal Ambassadors Boys Auxiliary. As a member of Reaper Missionary Baptist Church, she taught Adult Women’s Sunday School Class, served as a deaconess and prepared the Lord’s Supper. Mrs. Williamson was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the NAACP, and the African American Heritage Committee. He and his family resided between Ada and Allen as his parents taught in a one-room school, McCall's Chapel. He attended his first two years of schooling at Rhody, Okla., then at McCall's Chapel, for six years prior to moving into Allen schools for the remainder of his grades. Mr. Pipkin graduated from Allen High School in 1951. Mr. Pipkin attended East Central University for three years prior to voluntary draft into the United States Army for two years, stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas. He married Billye Ann Cozad on Dec. 20, 1954, in Allen. Mr. Pipkin began his career in the oil field patch with Sunray DX in May of 1956, outside of Tulsa, working throughout Oklahoma until March of 1970. At that time he and his family transferred with Sun Oil Company to Ventura, Calif., where he was Production Superintendent for Sun Oil offshore drilling in the Santa Barbara Chanel - Platforms Hillhouse and Henry. Mr. Pipkin ran a private oil field business with partner Phillip Sparling, from 1976-1977 in Cushing. Mr. Pipkin returned to offshore Houston in 1977 for Sun Oil as Production Superintendent. He and his family then transferred back to Southern California in November 1982 with Sun Oil Company and retired after 33 years of service on Feb. 1, 1989. Mrs. Winsor served on the Board of Education for Coalgate Public Schools in the 1970s, and was President of the school board when funding was secured for Wallace Byrd Middle School. She also helped secure funding and staff for the school district’s first gifted and talented education program. Patsy returned to Oklahoma State University in 1978, graduating in 1980 with a Master of Arts in Housing and Interior Design. She then spent 15 years teaching at the university level, gaining tenure at the University of Arkansas before her retirement in 1995. Patsy returned to Oklahoma, living in Oklahoma City until 2006. She then moved to McKinney, Texas. Mrs. Winsor was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Billie Jane Barnett, and her brother-in-law, Ab Justice. He left coaching in 1980 and was an elementary school principal until his retirement in 1988. He received the 2002 Milam Award, an honor given each year to one East Central Oklahoma University alumnus who has gone on to a distinguished career; he was named Panhandle Coach of the Year in track and field in 1962; and was a coach for the Texas team in the 1977 Oil Bowl high school all-star football game. While living in Hinton, he served as president of the Kiwanis Club, Chamber of Commerce, and the Hinton's J.C.'s. He served as the chairman of the Hinton-Kiwanis Rodeo for several years. Mr. Smith was also a lifelong member of the Hinton First United Methodist Church. He later moved to Norman in 1990. He married Alicia Crisp on May 19, 1991. He and his wife moved to Ada in January 1992 from Norman. He was the owner and operator of Doctors Park Pharmacy in Ada for 21 years. Survivors include his wife, Alicia Smith of the home; three sons, Ted Matthew and Emily Smith, Oklahoma City, and their children, James Gabriel Smith and Margaret Lula Smith; John and Makensy Smith, Binger, and their children, Layne Elizabeth Smith and Boone Michael Smith; and Conner Smith, Norman; and aunts, Lucille Bickell Milstein, Oklahoma City; and Barbara Kramer of North Carolina. She was born Dec. 1, 1930 in Mesa, Ariz., to Peter Rudolph Hille and Clea Langford Hille. She worked at the Wrangler factory in Ada for over twenty years. She worked as a cook at the Childhelp Merv Griffin Village in Arizona for abused, neglected, and at-risk children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester B. Moody; daughter Shirley Moody Sanders; and Wesley Moody.
