She earned her bachelor's degree in Medical Technology from the East Central State College in Ada, Oklahoma, in 1963 where she was a member of the East Central marching band. Myrna was a member of the Methodist faith. She worked at the Sugg Clinic in Ada, Oklahoma, from 1963-1980. She then became a Senior Technologist for chemistry at the Carl Albert Indian Hospital where she worked until she retired in 2004. Myrna was heavily involved in the Oklahoma Society for Medical Technology and was the editor for their newsletter for a number of years. She also assisted in traveling and management seminars. Myrna was an animal lover and always had at least one dog. Her Lhasa Apsos and Shih Tzus were loved and spoiled every day and were adored as true life companions, never realizing they were dogs, not people. Myrna was very loving and supportive and especially doted on Michael, Katheryn (whom she called Katie Mae), and Payton. She spent time with them doing a variety of special activities that were distinctly Myrna, from teaching them to play computer games to taking them to the newest Disney or Star Trek movie. These special memories are ones that will never be forgotten and will always be treasured. Myrna was as unique as she was inquisitive. She was a true student of life as was evidenced by her many interests. Her numerous and varied interests included, but were not limited to, wine and beer making, painting, reading, needlework and cooking gourmet meals, Myrna's true passions included traveling and being a self-taught photographer, taking gorgeous pictures primarily focused on nature shots taken from her favorite place in the world and sanctuary — Colorado. As an avid traveler, she traveled not only in the U.S. but also visited Russia and Germany and enjoyed her yearly two-week vacations with her family in Colorado at the Little Squaw Resort. Myrna is preceded in death by her parents, John and Marguerite Piazzi, and her aunt, Vivian Watkins. She is survived by family members Vicki Mohr, Michael Mohr, Michelle Mohr and Payton Mohr of Norman, and Katheryn Mohr of Lowell, Arkansas. There was no one like Myrna. She was a true individual and was deeply loved by her family and friends. She will be sorely missed. Family night will be 6-8 p.m. tonight. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Coalgate United Methodist Church with Jen Kellogg officiating. Burial will follow at Coalgate Cemetery.
