Ms. Weaver died Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born June 6, 1967, in Ada, Oklahoma to Eddie and Betty Weaver. She attended Willard Grade School and graduated from Ada High School. Ms. Weaver had been employed with Solo Cup, Valley View Regional Hospital, Jan Frances Nursing Home, East Central University and Cintas. She was a member of Reaper Baptist Church in Ada. Survivors include her mother, Betty Weaver, Ada; a daughter, Brittney Stradone and wife Amy of Oklahoma City; two sons, Desmond Ferguson and Darrius Ferguson, both of Ada; two brothers, Michael Rogers and Craig Rogers, both of Ada; three sisters, Tina Rogers, Ada, LaShawn Gallimore and her husband Billy of Mesquite, Texas, and Pamelia Ali and husband Mohamed of Ada; and a special aunt, Bertha Seals of Ada. She was later a secretary for Robert ?Bob? Gray, attorney. Mrs. Young was a lifetime member of the Roff First Baptist Church, had served as secretary for the East Hill Cemetery Association, and had served on the Roff School Alumni Committee. Survivors include her husband, Jodie Young of the home; a daughter, Jamie Henderson and her husband David of Ada; a granddaughter, Calli Henderson; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rusty Young and Rick and Martha Young, all of Chickasha. Mr. and Mrs. Harris moved to this area in June 1983 from Muldrow. Mrs. Harris was an office manager for Jack Exploration for 17 years. She was of the Baptist faith and was a volunteer for Abba?s Tables, which fed the homeless. Survivors include her husband, Gary Harris of the home; a brother, Chris Worley of Dallas, Texas, and his daughter, Karis; a sister, Carmen Perkins and her husband Brad of Thomas, and their daughter Loren. She married Don Northcutt on Aug. 31, 1967. Mrs. Northcutt was a Headstart teacher and later, was the assistant manager for the Holiday Inn in Ada for over 20 years. Coyne Jr., 68, of Charlotte, North Carolina, formerly of Ada, was held Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Morehead City, North Carolina. Mr. Coyne died Monday, July 28, 2014. He was born Oct. 29, 1945, in Danville, Virginia. He grew up in Virginia and Connecticut and attended Kent School in Kent, Connecticut, before moving to Spartanburg, South Carolina. He graduated from Spartanburg High School where he was on the track team and he was the football team quarterback. He attended Davidson College in North Carolina. He was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity and the Davidson track team. Buck entered officer training school during the Vietnam War and achieved the rank of captain in the U.S. Army. After the war, he returned to Davidson and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He then entered and graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law. He married Nina Williams in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She preceded him in death in 1993. Buck married Mary Criswell and then moved to Ada in 1995. He had a law practice in Ada, Braly and Braly and Coyne, for many years. While living in Ada, he was a member of St. Luke?s Episcopal Church where he served one term as the senior warden and also sang in the choir. Survivors include his two sons, Holbrook ?Brook? Buckmaster Coyne III and wife Alison, and Charles ?Charlie? Williams Coyne and wife Julie; two sisters, Kathy Belcher and Clare Coyne; three grandchildren, Jack, Joey and Charles; and step-children, Thomas Criswell, James Criswell, Anne Criswell Escobedo and Spencer Criswell Buchanan. Shirley Wilson, 67, of Ada died at her home Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Caruthersville, Missouri, on July 9, 1947, to Helen McGurie-Pike. She married Don Wilson in November 1967 in Carson City, Nevada. She lived in California until 1978, when she moved to Fittstown, Cleveland, Oklahoma, and then to Ada in 2003. Mrs. Wilson has been a member of Cleveland First Baptist Church for many years. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Don Wilson, of the home; three sons, Robert K. Pat and Jennie met while working for the University of California at the Los Alamos National Laboratory as part of the Atomic Energy Commission. She married Pat Stone on Sept. 19, 1953, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Mrs. Stone came to this area in 1970. She graduated from East Central University with a bachelor's degree in art in 1996 and was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority over 50 years. She helped her husband, Pat, establish and run the Kentucky Fried Chicken business and has been a KFC franchisee for over 42 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she sang in the choir, helped with the annual Smorgasbord and was a member of the Golden Club. Mrs. Stone also sang in ?The Messiah? at East Central University and was a member of the Ada Artists Association. DONALD J. NOBLE ADA ? Services for Dr. Donald James Noble, 83, of Ada are Tuesday, Aug. 12, at 2 p.m. at the Ada First Baptist Church. Rev. John Haynes and Rev. Jerry Wells will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada. Dr. Noble died Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, in a Sulphur hospital. He had been a resident of the Veterans Center in Sulphur since April 2014. He was born to Walter Marcus Noble and Margaret Louise Hopkins Noble March 13, 1931, at Krebs. He attended Krebs Elementary School and graduated in 1950 from McAlester High School. Donald James Noble and Helen Ann Tinker were married Nov. 27, 1958, in Richville Baptist Church where they were members. He attended George Washington University and the University of Oklahoma. He completed his Bachelor of Science Degree at East Central State College in 1959. He earned his Master of Science and Ph.D degrees at Oklahoma State University. He taught science classes at Marietta High School and the Muskogee High School. In August 1965, he began a 30-year teaching career in the biology department of East Central University in Ada. He was, for many years, the faculty advisor to the medical technology majors at ECU. Dr. Noble was a member of the Oklahoma Academy of Science. He had been a State Meet Director of the Oklahoma Academy of Science and served in many other areas of the OJAS. He was a Phi Kappa Phi member and a member of the Oklahoma Retired Teachers. Dr. Noble was a member of the United States Marine Corps from 1953-1957, serving during 1956 and 1957 with the Corps at the 8th & I Barracks in Washington, D. C. He had the special honor of serving details at Arlington National Cemetery, Camp David and at the dedication of the Iwo Jima Memorial. Following his discharge from the USMC, Donald completed his military obligation through the 45th Oklahoma National Guard. Dr. Noble was a long time member of the Ada First Baptist Church. He served as a deacon, had been a Royal Ambassadors leader, a bus ministry worker, Sunday school teacher and a member of various committees. Survivors include his wife, Helen, of the home; son, Joe Donald Noble and wife Debra of Gaar Corner; daughter, Mary Margaret Hatcher and husband Darryl of Ada; grandchildren, Justin Noble and wife Katie, Sarah Noble and Emily Noble, Anna Hatcher and Gage Hatcher; step-grandchildren, Michael Holloway and wife Ashlee, their children, Braxton, Braydon and Addison, Markus Holloway and wife Lisa and their children Alice and Lucy; and two sisters, Maxine Ramey and Juanita Gibson, both of Blocker. She was born May 18, 1936, in Konawa, Okla., to Marvin and Eula Coursey. She attended East Central University in Ada. She married Paul Granville Kelley Oct. 21, 1955. Mr. Kelley preceded her in death Aug. 5, 1994. Ms. Kelley decided to postpone her education and followed her husband to Independence, where he served as teacher, coach, and administrator for 36 years. She was an active member of the First Southern Baptist Church since 1958 and served in many roles at the church. She was a lifelong resident of Independence and past member of the Independence Country Club. She played bridge competitively for many years. Survivors of include two sons, Russell P. He graduated from Byng High School in 1946. He later attended East Central University. He married Ileta Pat Mitchell Aug. 30, 1946. She preceded him in death May 20, 2011. Mr. Taylor went to work for Thompson Book and Supply Company in the fall of 1946. He started in the shipping department and later became the manager of the Ada Store. He also worked at the Oklahoma City store for three years in the purchasing department. He helped at the other stores in Edmond, Durant, Tulsa and Little Rock, Arkansas. With the end of World War II in 1945, the U. S. Government encouraged an emphasis on Scientific Teaching, especially in the high schools. They provided financial aid to schools and businesses to establish laboratories to assist students in this phase of learning. Mr. Taylor traveled across the state installing these laboratories which required a knowledge of basic carpentry needed to fit the laboratory into mostly pre-existing classrooms. It also required knowing how to obtain and hook-up gas, electricity and plumbing. He retired from Thompson?s Dec. 31, 2006, after 60 years of service. He helped start Rural Water District Number 7 and served on the Board of Directors as secretary for 13 years. He was a member of the Byng School Board for 13 years and a member of the Ada Metropolitan Planning and Zoning Commission. Mr. Taylor and his wife were members of the Ada Round-Up Club and became members of the well-known Quadrills, which was square dancing on horses. The riders rode in pairs, wearing matching western shirts to the accompaniment of music and a regular square dance caller. He was part-time rancher raising Angus cattle. In 1998, he was presented with a plaque in recognition of ?Pioneer Farm Award? in appreciation of his years of continuous family stewardship of the land. Si was a longtime member of the Central Church of Christ. Survivors include a daughter, Bettie Estes-Rickner and husband Bert of Yukon; a son, Dr. Charles Taylor and his wife Susan of Jenks; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
