Mickey Keith officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. Mrs. Brown died Dec. 23, 2002, at a local nursing facility. She was born May 21, 1907, at Okemah to Warren and Mae Howard Shumard. She married Dewey Brown Sept. 21, 1924, at Tupelo. He died Oct. 12, 1979, at Amarillo, Texas. Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and was affiliated with the Family Worship Center. She relocated back to the Ada area from Amarillo 20 years ago. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Marvin William Brown. Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Robert Brown and Floyd Brown, both of Ada; a brother, Harvey Shumard, Ada; a sister, Goldie Henderson, Albuquerque, N.M.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Dixon died Dec. 23, 2002, at Berthoud. She was born Nov. 29, 1906, at Williamsburg, Mo., to Leslie and Ida Mahanes Wilks. She attended Weeks Schools in Williamsburg and graduated from Montgomery High School in Montgomery City, Mo. She married Jesse T. Dixon Sept. 18, 1926, at Mineola, Mo. He died in December 1985 at Berthoud. She was a school teacher and homemaker. She was a Southern Baptist. She was preceded in death by two sons, W.L. Dixon and Robert H. Dixon; a grandson, Steve Dudley; and a great-great-grandson, Keith Rosemann. Survivors include a son, Joe T. Dixon; a daughter, Dorothy Dudley, Berthoud, Colo.; seven grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She graduated from Ada High School and attended East Central University. She married Pat Holman. He died Oct. 24, 1998, at Broken Arrow. Mrs. Holman lived in Ada for many years and later moved to St. Louis, Mo. They moved to Tulsa in 1992. She was a legal secretary and also worked at the Ada Public Library. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by a son, Rand Len Holman, in 1995. Survivors include three sons, Duard Trent Holman, Tulsa, and Cory K. Holman and Tim Holman, both of Broken Arrow; two sisters, Margarette Hudson, Ada, and Louise Neese, Shawnee; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was born April 6, 1921, in the Oakman community to Ted and Lillie Stephens Lillard. He graduated from Ada High School. He married Vivian Avanell Wax Oct. 7, 1939. She died Aug. 3, 1988. Mr. Lillard served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a supervisor for Brockway Glass Co., retiring in April 1983 after 42 years of service. He was affiliated with Trinity Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Roy Lillard, Ada; two daughters, Winifred "Wendy" Reagan and Candy Davidson, both of Ardmore; a sister, Lorene Fowler, Hobbs, N.M.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She married John Saladin on Dec. 29, 1929, at Okemah. He died Dec. 21, 1961. She married Homa Horton in June 1964. He died in July 1990 at Wewoka. He also owned and operated Antiques of Holton, which he opened in 1995. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served as chief for 10 years on the Holton Fire Department, of which he was a member for 39 years. He was also a member of Jackson County Storm Spotters and a past member of the Moose Lodge in Topeka and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Holton. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Nicole Rae Amon, in 1994. He and his wife, Pat, owned and operated an auto parts store in Sulphur for many years. He was a volunteer fireman and had been a member of the police department and sheriff's department. He was also the supervisor of Ramer Oil Company. He was Assembly of God by faith. She belonged to Carter County Retired Teachers Organization, and was a past worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She and Clifford L. Drennan were married Dec. 22, 1926, at Tecumseh. He died June 3, 1983. She was preceded in death by a son, Clifford "Sonny" Drennan Jr., and a great- grandson, Cody Drennan. Mr. Parrott died Dec. 28, 2002, at a Pauls Valley Hospital. He was born April 20, 1915, at Minco to T.S. and Susan Elizabeth Rankin Parrott. He attended Minco Schools and came to this area in 1951 from Oklahoma City. He married Marcella Umphfres on Feb. 24, 1946. Mr. Parrott attended Draughn's Business College in Oklahoma City. He was a salesman for Albert Equipment Co. in Tulsa for many years and was honored as Top Salesman by the company's headquarters in Peoria, Ill. He had been an active member of First Baptist Church since 1951. There, he served as deacon and was director of the Young Married Department for many years. He was a charter member of Kiwanis Club of Greater Ada and served in the U.S. Army-Air Corps during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Marcella Parrott, of the home; two sons, Paul Parrott, Tulsa, and Ross Parrott, Glendale, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He had worked for Kerr-McGee Refinery at Wynnewood. He had lived at Stratford for 43 years and had been a member of First Baptist Church. He married Rachel Virginia Buckner Ruggles at Gaineville, Texas, Aug. 30, 1952. She died Jan. 2, 2002. Survivors include a daughter, Gayla Beth Adams, Stratford; his mother, Connie Ruggles, Stratford; two brothers, Odin Ruggles, Wynnewood, and Dale Ruggles, Elmore City; two sisters, Nella Dell Combs, Durant, and Alice Sue Brooks, Midwest City; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mr. McMillin died Dec. 27, 2002, at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born Oct. 26, 1933, at Mountain View to Clarence McMillin and Beatrice Meeks. He graduated from Fort Cobb Schools and Southwestern University of Weatherford, with a degree in pharmacy. He married Lois Owen Sept. 10, 1954. Mr. McMillin was the owner and operator of Dicus Pharmacy, retiring in October 1998 after 32 years of service. He was affiliated with Central Church of Christ, and was an active children's Sunday school teacher and elder for 28 years. Mr. McMillin was also a scout master and a former Lions Club member. He was a volunteer at Hayes Elementary School, listening to children read, and was a former member of the Kiwanis Club of Ada. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 until 1956. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Gabrielle McMillin, Aug. 30, 2000. Survivors include his wife, Lois McMillin, of the home; two daughters, Pam Cox, Ada, and Debra Boswell, Sikeston, Mo.; two sons, Rick McMillin, Houston, Texas; and David McMillin, Ada; a brother, Kenneth Murray McMillin, Fort Cobb; two sisters, Jonell Brownback, Anadarko, and Wanda Faye Smallwood, Apache; and six grandchildren. She also graduated from Seminole State College. She married Robert L. Douthit Sr. on June 7, 1974, at First United Methodist Church of Seminole. Mrs. Douthit was employed at Bowlegs Public Schools for several years. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Robert L.
