All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** JOHNNIE HERRING ADA - Services for Johnnie Lee Herring, 63, Ada, will be 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Criswell Funeral Home, the Rev. David Williams conducting rites. Burial will be at Rosedale Cemetery. Mr. Herring died Tuesday at a local hospital following a sudden illness. He was born July 27, 1923, at Coalgate, to John and Lenora (Wise) Herring and moved to Roff as a young child. He moved to Ada in 1939 from Roff and attended school at Dolberg. Mr. Herring was owner of Ada Cab Co. here from 1944 to the present and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theatre. He and Billie Isom married Nov. 16, 1957. Survivors include his wife, Billie, of the home; one daughter, Judy Brinlee, Ada; three sons, Dewayne Isom, Ada; Ernest Isom, Lehigh, and George Isom, Greenville, S.C.; six sisters, Jewel Sexton, Ada; Pauline Moore, Tacoma, Wash.; Aline Goodman, Moore; Goldena Wallis, Kerrville, Texas; Ruby Carpenter, Dallas, Texas, and Marie Herring, Kerrville, Texas; and eight grandchildren. Bearers will be Leon Walker, Tommy Roberts, Mike Cook, Bill Cathey, Dean Anderson and Hershel McClain.
