Date of editions are given at beginning of each section. -------------------------------------------------------- Ada Evening News Paid Obituaries -------------------------------------------------------- Wednesday, November 5, 2003 LOUIE MOSHIER ADA - Louie Moshier, age 92, was born August 8, 1911, in Fort Gibson, OK. His parents were Charlie and Catherine Wilson Moshier. The Moshier family moved to Stonewall, OK in 1917 when Louie was about 6 years old, where they were farmers. Louie grew up in the Stonewall community. In February 1932 he married Medruth Frye and they established their farm home near Lula. Louie farmed and raised cattle, with Medruth working as an elementary teacher in Lula schools. Four sons were born - Louie Ray, Don, Glen, and Terry. In 1949 Louie and family moved to a new farm on Highway 3 between Union Valley and Ahloso. Louie continued to farm, raise livestock and worked for the Pontotoc County Soil Conservation District. Louie was a member of the Church of Christ and attended congregations at Ahloso and at Central Church of Christ in Ada. He was an outdoors person who enjoyed fishing, hunting, domino playing and gardening. He suffered a severe stroke late in 1998 and had been confined to a nursing home for almost 5 years, until his death this past Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, in Lexington, OK. Louie was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Medruth Moshier. Other family members include four sons, Louie R. Moshier, Oklahoma City, OK; Don G. Moshier, The Woodlands, TX; Glen W. Moshier, Brentwood, TN; and Terry L. Moshier, Saratoga, CA; 11 grandchildren, Kim Harris, Oklahoma City, OK; Cindy Potter, Oklahoma City, OK; Andrea Moshier (deceased); John Moshier, Austin, TX; Amye Moshier, Galveston, TX; Carey Moshier, Lake Jackson, TX; Mark Moshier, Huntsville, AL; Jason Moshier, Nashville, TN; Jennifer Moshier, San Francisco, CA; Mike Moshier, Raleigh-Durham, NC; and Jon Moshier, Boulder, CO; and 9 great grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at the Criswell Chapel, Bud Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The pall bearers will be family members and close friends of Louie. Friends may call at Criswell Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00 PM Thursday evening. - Paid Obituary -
