Basham, 77, McAlester, are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Soper First Baptist Church, the Rev. Greg Hammack officiating. Mrs. Basham was born May 4, 1925, at Soper to Sterling Elliot and Alice Shirley. She married Lewis Basham Dec. 1963, at Hugo. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Lemons, Coalgate; a son, Jerry Edge, McAlester; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great- grandchild. She married Virgil Ray Reed March 27, 1960, at Sapulpa. Mrs. Reed came to this area in 1997 from Haskell. She was a homemaker and affiliated with Southwest Church of Christ. Jonathan Hudspeth officiating. Mr. Baucom died Oct. 1, 2002, at Oklahoma City. He was born Nov. 15, 1899, to John Calvin and Samantha Elizabeth Clayborn Baucom. He was raised at Deer, Ark., and as a young boy came to Sardis. As a teen-ager, he lived in the Francis, Allen, Atwood and Gerty areas until he moved to Oklahoma City. He attended Atwood Baptist Church and was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eddith Baucom, and one daughter, Kathryn Little. Survivors include a son Everett Baucom, Oklahoma City; two daughters, Margaret Cagle, Allen, and Doris Freeman, Ardmore; 17 grandchildren; 31 great- grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren. She was born Oct. 26, 1926, at Talihina to Jackson and Mae Pearl Durin Emerson. She graduated from Mill Creek High School. She married Joseph Hamilton Nov. 20, 1944, at Tishomingo. He died Aug. 19, 1968. Mrs. Hamilton was a teacher and nurses aid. She was a member of the Blue Baptist Church and the Chickasaw Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Scooter Hamilton, Anthony John Robert Hamilton and Steven "Stevie Boy" Hamilton. Mr. Imoe was employed as a forklift driver for Humpty-Dumpty Warehouse and was a Civic Union Member Teamster for 30 years. He was affiliated with the Baptist church. He owned the Peanut Company in Allen. He was a farmer and rancher. He married Lucille Douglas Feb. 13, 1943, at McAlester. He was affiliated with the Church of Christ. He was a 32nd degree Mason, member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a member of People's Electric Cooperative Board, holding various offices. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 81. Survivors include his wife, Lucille West, of the home; a daughter, Paula Erickson, Allen; a stepson, Bob Gadberry, Ennis, Texas; a brother, John West, Eufaula; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Pate died Oct. 3, 2002, at her home. She was born July 30, 1910, at Tryon to Ebon Alexander and Lorena Van Brunt Walters. She graduated high school at Hickory and attended college at East Central University. She married "Ted" Theodore Pate Nov. 7, 1933, at Ada. He died Jan. 27, 1994. During World War II Mrs. Pate worked at Ryan Aircraft, San Diego, Calif., and Douglas Aircraft, Oklahoma City. She was also employed at Jan Frances Care Center and East Central University as a dietary aide. She was later a homemaker. Mrs. Pate was a long life member of the Ada Garden Club, Ada Rebekah Lodge, in which she held many offices, and the Ladies Auxiliary with First Free Will Baptist Church. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church for 63 years. Survivors include two sons, Gary Pate, Houston, Texas, and Charles O. He served as talent chairman of Ada Antics one year for benefit of Valley View Hospital. He was past-president of Ada Junior Chamber of Commerce. He was the chamber of commerce airport representative, member of the Civil Air Patrol, owner of airplanes and a pilot from 1948-1995. He was a member of the Parachute Club of America, a sports parachutist and did demonstrations for charity events from 1961-1992. He served as chief pilot for the National Parachuting Championships of 1966 and for Miss America's homecoming in 1966. He made 50 jumps on his 50th birthday. He has made jumps all over the U.S., from Provincetown on the Cape to San Diego in the west. He was champion city golfer one year. He served in the U.S. Navy four years, obtaining the rank of LTJG. He was one of the founders and former president of Davis Quarterback Club. He owned and operated Deen's Cleaners for 27 years. She then relocated to Holdenville where she worked as her husband's secretary for over 50 years. Mrs. Welch taught art for many years in Holdenville and was a lifetime member and honorary board member of the local Art Association. She was president of the Hughes County Historical Society from 1998 until 2000. She was also active in the local library, serving as president of "Friends of the Library" for four years and later serving as vice president. Mrs. Welch was a charter member of the 101 Ranch Collectors of Ponca City and was a past Matron for the Order of the Eastern Star, having been a member for over 50 years. She also served as secretary for the local hospital board and was affiliated with the Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, J.D. He was born June 5, 1917, at Happyland Community, east of Ada, to James Scott and Annie Sydney Middleton Wilson. He attended Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College in Moore. He was a member of Free Will Baptist Church and was a Free Will Baptist Minister until his retirement. He married Jewel Mae Lee March 28, 1936, at Oakman. He was a 32nd-degree Mason. Survivors include his wife, Jewell Wilson, of the home; three sons, Milburn Wilson, Rowlett, Texas, Billy Ray Wilson, Coalgate, and Charles Wilson, Sunnyvale, Texas; two daughters, Katie Martin, Frederick, and Mary Jo Johnson, Coalgate; two brothers, R.C. Wilson, Ada, and Percy Wilson, Roseburg, Ore.; a sister, Mildred Healey, Pampa, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Kaye Gross.
