Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home. Barbara was born June 11, 1941, in Clarita, Coal County, to James Polk (J.P.) Woods and Edith (Scott) Woods. She lived with the family on their farm until they moved to Ada in 1950. She attended schools in Ada and graduated from Ada High School in 1959. She also attended East Central University. Barbara helped her parents with their store, Woods Grocery, and worked as a bookkeeper at J. Kent Smith Jewelers before marrying in 1963 and having two sons, Michael and Drew. Barbara's family moved from Ada to Oklahoma City, Columbus, Ohio, twice to Tulsa and twice to Tempe, Arizona, before settling again in Ada in 1979. She was a homemaker for several years before returning to work at KMart in Ada in 1987, serving as a department manager until late 1999 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She loved her family and friends and found great joy in her pair of 3-year-old grandchildren. She loved her KMart "family" of close friends and co-workers who showed her much love and support. Barbara is survived by son, Michael Smith, daughter-inlaw Colleen Almeida Smith and granddaughter Melina Smith, all of Tulsa, and son Drew Smith, daughter-in-law Anita Smith and grandson Ian Smith, all of Norman; a brother, James E.
