Submitted by Rita Floyd. -------------------------------------------------------- Wednesday, February 26, 2003 RALPH TAYLOR ADA - Services for Ralph James Taylor, 92, Ada, are 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, at Ada Church of the Nazarene, the Rev. Stephen Nation officiating. Burial follows at Tishomingo City Cemetery. Mr. Taylor died Feb. 25, 2003, at a local nursing home. He was born Sept. 2, 1910, at Melrose, New Mexico, to James and Vessie Joyner Taylor. At the age of 2, he moved to Hunter, Okla., then to Tishomingo at the age of 10, where he graduated from Washita Farm High School. After his marriage, he operated the Washita Poultry Farm, then the Murray College Livestock Farm. In 1945 he moved to Ada where he managed the Floyd Poultry Farm, hatchery and feed store. He then worked for Ada Auto, retiring in 1975 at the age of 65. He later worked with his son, Darel, in Taylor Vending, retiring in 2000. He was lovingly known as the "Candy Man." He married Cecil H. Dale on April 27, 1933, at Tishomingo, Okla. She died Jan. 17, 1994, at Ada. Survivors include a son, Darel Taylor,Ada; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Bill Gibson, Ada; four grandchildren, Patrick and Chris Taylor, Gary Gibson and Jan Long; and six great-grandchildren, Garrett and Paige Taylor and Aaron, Aleena, Janessa and Austin Long. Bearers are Darel Taylor, Bill Gibson, Chris Taylor, Gary Gibson, Lonnie Long and Aaron Long. Criswell Funeral Home, Ada, is in charge of arrangements. - Paid Obituary ­
