Pottawatomie Co. OK - Black Cemetery Return to Pottawatomie County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/pottawatomie/pottawatomie.htm ===================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE Copyright. All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== BLACK CEMETARY Pottawatomie County Sharon Crawford and Nalora Burns canvassed this cemetary on Oct 22, 1998. Note: Because this was the first cemetary Sharon Crawford and I canvassed together, and we had different styles in canvassing cemetaries, the portion of the cemetary Sharon transcibed, only inumerates the number of unmarked stones. I like to make note of the positioning of unmarked graves, so in the section I transcribed the stones are listed in the order I found them. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Named for the BLACK surname, earliest grave in cemetary. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Directions: This cemetary is just north of Pink, OK, off of State Highway 9, located in the northwest corner of the junction of OK Road and New Hope Road. The cemetery is well maintained, and has many unmarked stones. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ MCCALIP, Son of J.
