J.C., born Aug. 24, 1925 and died Aug. 23, 2005. J.C. was a native of McLoud, OK. He was in the 101st Airborne during WWII, a Prisoner of War, Disabled American Veteran, and Purple Heart recipient. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 33 years, Billie Dove Chambless. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Carol Chambless; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and David Hodges; grandchildren, Jason and Leah Hodges, Amber and Carl Dismuke, Jill and Stephen Thomas, Tara and Brent Jameson, Stacy and Earle Haggard; nine great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Regina Bryan. J.C. thought so much of his extended family at Remington Park and spoke of them often. A special thanks to his good buddy of 38 years, Bruce, for his fellowship and gracious support over the last two years. J.C., 'Papa' was very proud of his family and loved them dearly. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He had a contagious spirit which was evident in his countless number of lifelong friends. His kind, generous heart and spunky sense of humor will be greatly missed. A graveside service to celebrate J.C.'s life will be held 10:00 AM Friday at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
