Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle The Rev. Raymond Bowlin, pastor of first Baptist Church in Bushland, will officiate. Burial will be in Palo Duro Cemetery in Wildorado. Mrs. Godsey was born in Shawnee, Okla., and had lived in Bushland since 1930. She was a songwriter, poet, retired postmistress of Bushland and worked for the Bushland Oil and Gas Co. She was a member of Bushland Baptist Church. She married Verner C. Godsey in 1925 at Shawnee, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982 and by a son, Jim Godsey. Survivors include a son, Bill Godsey of Abilene; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends prior to service time at the funeral home. They suggest in lieu of flowers memorials be to Palo Duro Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 86, Wildorado, TX 79098; or the American Cancer Society, 3915 Bell, Amarillo, TX 79106.
