Glenn 12/2/1923 11/13/2002 Earl D. Glenn passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2002. He was 78 years old. Earl was born in Asher, Oklahoma and moved to Shafter, California, with his family when he was young. He graduated from Shafter High School in 1941. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1943 and was honorably discharged in January 1946. While in the service Earl received the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and The Bronze Star Medal. On returning to the states he met Elverta Cooper and they were married one year later. In 1952 the family moved to Bakersfield. Earl was a truck driver for 45 years and retired in 1985 from Golden Bear Oil Co. Earl is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elverta; two sons, Earl G. Glenn and his wife of Kent, WA, Gary G. Glenn of Bakersfield; daughter, Alice Ruch of Coeur D Alene, Idaho; two brothers, Franklin Glenn of Chula Vista, CA and Charlie Glenn of Porterville; sister, Kathryn Wilson of Forest Grove Oregon; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
