Grywalski, 85, of Shawnee, died Thursday, August 11, 2005, in Norman, OK. Graveside services 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2005 at Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore, OK. Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh is in charge of arrangements. Viewing will be Sunday from 1-7 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home. Born February 17, 1920, in Edwardsville, Pennsylvania to Joseph & Mary (Reykowski) Grywalski. He was reared in Edwardsville and was a graduate of Edwardsville High School. He attended Central State University, where he earned his Bachelors Degree. He earned his Master and Doctorate Degrees from Oklahoma State University. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, From 1942 until 1945. On November 4, 1942, he married Thelma Watts in Kentucky. He taught at Ardmore Business College, Meeker and Arcadia, where he served as principal until retiring in 1964. A member of the VFW, he had served as Post Commander of VFW Post in Edmond. He was also a life member of DAV, and the Shawnee American Legion Post # 16. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Sandra Grywalski; two sisters, Frances Moyers and Elenor Grywalski; and one brother, Joseph Grywalski. Survived by his wife Thelma B. Grywalski of the home; sister, Irene Grywalski of Pennsylvania; grandchildren: Sonja and Jeff Cupps of Bethel and Sean and Cathy Grywalski of Florida; great grandchildren, Danielle and Amanda Bridges, Kristine and Raechell Messinger and Ashley Grywalski. The family has designated the Oklahoma Heart Association as appropriate for memorials.
