All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Keokuk Cemetery--Keokuk OK Newspaper: Keokuk Kall Date: February 4, 1899 "W. D. Giles (William Dudley) passed away Monday at home 2-1/2 miles north of this city. The cause of his death was Pneumonia and Bronchitis. Mr. Giles came to this country nine years ago from Wisconsin. The remains were laid to rest in the city cemetery. He leaves one boy and two girls, all grown, to mourn for him. Mr. Giles was a man whom all respected and honored. His verbal statements were accepted more readily than some oaths. He was a kind father, a good citizen and a warm friend. A man whose demeanor toward his fellow men won the affection and regard of all who knew him. The Kall extends sympathy for his children in this, their time of sorrow." Also, I have the following input from the Viroqua, Wisconsin newspaper: "William Giles died at his home in Keokuk Falls, Oklahoma Territory on January 30, of bronchitis, after an illness of five weeks. His wife, who was the daughter of Uncle John Groves, died about two years ago. He leaves three children, all grown up and living in Oklahoma. Among relatives in county is his mother and three sisters, Mrs. Cobb, Mrs. Bowman, and Mrs. Silbaugh." Please let me know the correct procedure for submitting this information if this is incorrect.
