Hill, James K.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 21st, 2:00 p.m., at Miller 
Memorial Chapel, 1120 West Goshen Ave., Visalia, for James K. Hill, 
63, who passed away April 17, 2007, in Visalia, CA after a short 
illness. Jim was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on August 10, 1943 to 
Kenneth and Marjorie Hill. The family moved to Bakersfield, CA when 
he was five. Jim attended local schools and graduated from East 
Bakersfield High School in 1961. He worked in the family business 
until he was injured in a wreck and decided he would go back to 
school. He graduated from The University of Las Vegas and the 
University of the Pacific's Doctorate of Pharmacy program. He 
graduated from UOP in 1978 and became a licensed pharmacist and 
worked at various hospitals and pharmacies in Stockton, Sutter Creek, 
Bakersfield and Visalia. He also continued to work in the family 
business when his parents retired. Jim was preceded in death by his 
father, Kenneth Hill and an infant son, Steven Hill. He leaves his 
mother, Marjorie Hill of Bakersfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy 
and Justin France; and two granddaughters, Sara and Sophia France, 
all of Brentwood, CA; his sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Doug 
McGinty of Bakersfield and their children. He also leaves an uncle, 
Lowell Smith of Springfield MO; an aunt and uncle, Gilford and 
Juanita Hill of Stroud, OK; and several cousins in Oklahoma and 
Missouri. Three years ago Jim met a wonderful lady, Peggy Furnas of 
Visalia. He soon moved to Visalia where they bought a beautiful home 
and spent some time traveling and enjoying life. Peggy's 2 sons, 
Eric, and her son, Scott and wife, Jamie; along with Peggy's mother, 
Irene and brother, Ken, were very special to Jim and he loved them 
like his own. He was especially fond of Peggy's granddaughter, Katie. 
Peggy took wonderful care of Jim during his illness. He was visited 
by many friends and family members and we will miss him a great deal.
