Isenhower was born on June 17, 1921 and passed away comfortably in his home on May 8, 2007. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at Farnstrom-Gable Funeral Chapel, 225 NE 80th Ave. There will be a celebration of Carl's life following the service at the American Legion Post #1,1830 SE 122nd Ave. Carl was born in Shawnee, Okla., and moved to Ashland in 1928. He went to school at Washington Elementary and Ashland High School, graduating in 1940. He was called into military service in 1942 and served in Korea and Panama before being stationed in Long Island, N.Y. Carl retired from the U.S. Air Force with Honors on June 30, 1966 and moved back to Oregon where he went to work for Davison's Bakery. After five years the bakery closed and he went to work for the Parkrose School District. Carl retired after 13 years on Dec. 31, 1983 as the head custodian. Carl was married to Florence Pia (Acconcia) Isenhower for over 38 years, and is survived by five children, Virginia Wagner, George Trivoli, Annina Waddell, Ronnile Frances, Paul Trivoli, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carl's loving and giving ways were an inspiration to all who knew him. His wealth was measured by how much he gave to others and not by what he kept for himself. He treasured part of our lives for many years. Carl was very much loved and will be dearly missed by all. Remembrances may be made in his memory to American Legion Post #1.
