Oleta Jackson Lewis

Tecumseh homemaker Oleta Jackson Lewis of Tecumseh died Thursday in 
Tecumseh. She was 71.

She was born May 4, 1929, in Macomb to Virgil L. and Gertie J. (Minyard) 
Jackson.

A graduate of Macomb High School, Mrs. Lewis was reared in Macomb and 
moved to Tecumseh in 1947.

Mrs. Lewis lived in Texas for 12 years, then in Shawnee for six years 
before returning to Tecumseh in 1990.

On Oct. 18, 1947, she married Bill Lewis in Shawnee.

Mrs. Lewis was a member of Sharon Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Anita Wilson and two 
sisters, Ortha Carter and Betty Porcupile.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Lewis of the home; one son, Don Lewis 
of Del City; one grandson, Sean Lewis of Oklahoma City; two 
granddaughters, Amy Lewis and Miranda Wilson, both of Oklahoma City; three 
sisters, Audrey Kruezburg, Dorothy Lloyd and Mary Jeffers, all of 
Tecumseh; one brother, Elbert Jackson of Tecumseh; three great-
grandchildren, Dakota, Sierra and Madison Lewis; two stepgreat-
grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Matthew.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Sharon Baptist Church with the Rev. 
Clint Dawkins officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery. Cooper 
Funeral Home of Tecumseh is in charge of arrangements.
