As a young boy he moved with his family to Pauls Valley, Oklahoma where he spent his younger years and graduated from Pauls Valley High School. While in high school he excelled in agricultural contests and was also an outstanding wrestler. He was named captain of the high school wrestling team his senior year. On August 5, 1941 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Anna Mae Marcotte, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Purcell, Oklahoma. The young couple lived for a short time in California but returned to Oklahoma in 1943. They have resided in the Oklahoma City area since that time. Mr. Lehman was owner of A. C. Lehman Overhead Door Co. for many years and later worked at Tinker AFB where he retired Jan. 2, 1987. After his retirement, he finally had time to devote to one of the joys of his life, his gardening. Family and neighbors were often blessed with the fruits of his labors. His chief joy in life, however, was being with his wife of 61 years, all his children and any and all family members. He served as a living example of a true Christian man, known by all for his honesty, his integrity, his love for the Lord and his family. He will be lovingly remembered for his kind and caring ways, his gentle smile and ready laughter, his enjoyment of singing, dancing, and ice cream. Many will remember him for his active participation in school activities involving his children. His was a frequent and familiar face at Sacred Heart Elementary and Mount Saint Mary High School. Organizational memberships included active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 57 years, Catholic Order of Foresters Court 1813, Moose Lodge No. 1785, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and AARP.
