Lloyd McGee

HEREFORD - Lloyd McGee, 78, died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, at West Gate 
Nursing Home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in West Park Cemetery with Roy 
Shave officiating. Arrangements are by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home.

Mr. McGee was born in St. Louis, Okla. He had been a basketball star and 
graduated from Shawnee High School at Shawnee, Okla. He attended the Hills 
Business College at Oklahoma City.

He married Margaret Calton in 1943 at Seminole, Okla. They moved to 
Portales, N.M., and opened McGee's Furniture Store, which they operated 
for 11 years. They moved to Hereford and opened McGee's Furniture Store 
and have operated it for over 41 years. He had retired, but Mrs. McGee 
still operates the store.

Survivors include his wife of Canyon; a daughter, Dr. Joe Ella Canslar of 
Canyon; a son, Vance Lynn McGee of Lufkin; two brothers; a sister; four 
grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The family requests memorials be to the High Plains Children's Home in 
Amarillo.
