Lila was born January 3, 1909 in Macomb, OK and she passed away February 15, 2007 in Bakersfield, CA. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; son, Cecil; daughter, Wanda; her parents, William and Alice Kime; one sister and two brothers. She is survived by her son and daughter-in- law, Gerald and Cora McLaughlin; daughter, Colleen Henderson; daughter, Barbara Demeter; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Nancy Kime; grandchildren, Ron Henry and his children, Matt, Jake and Katelyn; Lori House and her children, Ashli, Jessi and Mike; Vicki Brown and her son, Jacob; Debi Robinson and her children, Tyler and Jamie; Mike Henderson and his daughter, Mikaela; and David Henderson, Sheila, Brenda, Cecil and Gary McLaughlin, as well as four great- grandchildren. Lila married the love of her life, Raymond, in 1927. They had five children and made their home in OK. In 1941, a tornado destroyed their home and as a result they moved to CA to be closer to relatives. Moving to CA was an adventure in itself. With what was left of their belongings, she put her husband and children first at all times. Her courageous spirit and determination was evident with her faith in the Lord. Mother began playing the piano as a young girl at her church and once moving to CA, she was the pianist at Glad Tidings and Highland Assembly of God Churches, until her latter years. Even at the age of 97, she was playing either the organ or piano in her home. The last 5 months of her life she continued playing the piano and would occasionally entertain the residents with a song at Evergreen Healthcare Center. She was always there for us in helping raise 4 generations of children. She was compassionate and loving. She went to be with the Lord on a sunny afternoon with her family by her side. We love you Mom and Nanny. A special thank you to Evergreen Healthcare Center for your compassionate staff and especially to Optimal Hospice, Jeannie, Steve and Jennifer.
