All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Resthaven Cemetery--Shawenee OK Neavill, JoAnne (Riddle) JoAnne Neavill (Riddle) Dec. 26, 1928 - May 23, 2007 Resident of Danville Born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, JoAnne Neavill (stage name Riddle) passed peacefully on Wednesday, May 23 in her Danville, California home. She was the daughter of Dr. Roy J. Melugin and Louise Campbell Melugin. JoAnne was elected Governor of Oklahoma Girls State in 1946. She married Jack Neavill in Denver, Colorado on February 10, 1948. The couple moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma and then to California where they participated in both USO entertainment and little theatre performances in the East Bay. They were together until Jack's death in 1995. They raised a loving family of six children. A popular San Francisco Bay Area piano-bar entertainer, JoAnne was renowned for her talent and vivacious personality. She touched thousands of lives with her wit, grace and beauty as an E.S.L. teacher, pianist, community building volunteer, and mother. JoAnne's Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, at Peace Lutheran Church in Danville. Her ashes will be buried at Resthaven Cemetery in Shawnee, next to her parents. JoAnne is survived by her children, Janet Louise Hersh, Jonnie Kay Atkinson, James Roy Neavill, Jerry J. Neavill, Jeannie Anne Sousa, and Jill Marie Huckaby; and grandchildren, Eva Schreier, Jesse Hersh, Mollie and Wendy Siegle, April Atkinson, Tony, Joanna, and Joel Sousa, Jackie and Jamie Neavill, and Gianna Huckaby. All will miss "Janma's" gourmet cooking, infectious laughter, superlative piano style, and fun-loving sense of humor.
