All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Texhoma Cemetery--Texhoma OK Ivan Leo Pierce TEXHOMA, Okla. - Ivan Leo Pierce, 79, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Davidson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Texhoma Cemetery by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home. Mr. Pierce was born in Shawnee, Okla. He served in the Army during World War II. He married Martha Bowman in 1944 at Arkansas City, Kan. He moved in 1958 from Arkansas City to Elkhart City, Kan. In 1965, he settled in Texhoma, where he continued his cattletrucking business until retiring after 40 years. He had been a Baptist. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Phil Pierce of Idabel, Mark Pierce of Waverly, Tenn., and James "Jim" Pierce of Hooker; a sister, Virginia Elliott of Great Bend, Kan.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to Texhoma Cemetery Fund, Texhoma, OK 73949. Memorials also may be sent in care of Dawson-Welch Funeral Home, Box 445, Texhoma, OK 73949.
