Rogers of Creswell, who died Aug. 29 of age-related causes. She was 83. Rogers was born April 9, 1922, in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma, to Alfred and Iva Day Grall. She married Melvin Rogers on April 20, 1940, in Hornersville, Mo. He died May 4, 1982. She had lived in Creswell for 23 years and previously lived in Aumsville, Stayton and Springfield. Rogers was a homemaker, and enjoyed church and quilting. Survivors include three daughters, Delores Wartenbee and Joanie Vanio, both of Springfield and Pamela Walters of Eugene; a son, Jerry Rogers of Springfield; a daughter, Eldora Ormond of Springfield; 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. A son, Ron, and a daughter, Debra Hollis, died previously. Today's service will be held at 2 p.m. at New Life Center in Springfield. Private burial will be in Springfield Memorial Gardens.
