All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Durant Daily Democrat 1 Feb 2005 Nona Rowlett Graveside services for Nona Rowlett will be Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Highland Cemetery. The Rev. Herb Bridgewater is officiating. Nona Rowlett of Durant died in a Shawnee nursing home on Jan. 29, 2005, She was born in Shawnee on April 28, 1921, to Frankie and JM Kelley. Nona graduated from Shawnee High School in 1939 and was known as Nona Fern Kelley to her classmates. She was married in Seminole to Bill Rowlett of Tecumseh Nov. 3, 1943. She and her husband Bill were affiliated with General Motors Dealerships in Seminole and Ada and later owned and operated a GM dealership in Durant. They retired in 1972 in Durant and did extensive traveling. They were members of the United Methodist Church in Durant. Nona attended church functions and was a "pink lady" volunteer at the Durant hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband; mother and father; sisters Irene Marlow, Ruby Lewis and Olete Spears; brother Rex Kelley and nephew Dwayne Kelley. She is survived by nephews George E. "Spike" Kelley, Tommy Spears and Thomas, Matthew and Adam Spears and other family. Condolences may be sent to the family at dhfh@communicomm.com.
