All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Sacramento Valley National Cemetery--Dixon CA Napa Valley Register Friday, July 06, 2007 NAPA - Charles (Charlie) Rayner, 71, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2007, at the Napa Nursing Center. Charlie was born in Tecumseh, Okla., on Jan. 3, 1936. His family moved to Santa Monica in 1937. After attending school in Etiwanda, he enlisted in the United Sates Marine Corps. Upon his honorable discharge, he joined and served in the National Guard for five years. He was very proud of his military service. Charlie worked as a security guard and service station attendant in Southern California. He moved to the Napa Valley area in 1979 and has resided at the Napa Creek Manor for the past 18 years. He loved people and going out to eat. He was also a passionate bingo player for many years. Charlie was predeceased by his parents and three brothers. He is survived by one sister, Lee Ely of Bradenton, Fla.; numerous nieces and nephews; his care giver, Alfonso; and his loving and faithful companion of many years, Iolah Duree. Charlie will receive military honors at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery on Friday, July 6, at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Napa Valley, 414 S. Jefferson St., Napa, CA 94559.
