Sammy Richard Veach 1946 - 2008 Sammy Richard Veach (62) passed away 
on November 13, at a Veterans hospital. Services will be held on 
Friday, November 21, 10:00 a.m., at St. Francis Church, 900 H Street. 
There will also be a viewing on Thursday, November 20, from 2-4 p.m., 
at Doughty-Calhoun-O'Meara, 1100 Truxtun Ave. Sammy was a proud 
veteran who served his country and earned a Purple Heart. Sammy was 
born on January 24, 1946 in Shawnee, OK but resided in Bakersfield 
with his family. Sammy was the oldest of ten brothers and sisters who 
loved him very much. Sammy has 3 daughters, Distina, Shelly, and Baby 
(Sammie). He also left behind 9 grandchildren who meant the world to 
him. Sammy was loved and will be missed dearly.
